As much fun as the holidays are, they can be a tad…stylistically stifling. Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas and New Year’s Eve each have their own set of heavily ingrained visual cues and references, complete with predetermined color palettes and textures. Predictability can be comforting and times, and there’s something to be said for tradition, certainly, but if you’re a non-traditional girl, you probably still want to feel like yourself while you get in the spirit with your family and friends. I’m wholeheartedly with you on that one, and I’d like this Christopher Kane Black Embroidered Sheer Crackle Clutch to be with me.
I’m not a woman whose personal style lends itself to the traditional, sequin-spattered glitz of New Year’s or the chaste party dresses of Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I still have to attend events themed around those holidays every year and try not to look like I got lost on the way to a completely different party. For me, this clutch bridges the gap between old-world embellishment and a sense of modernity; the outer shell of the clutch is all embroidery, but it’s done in an edgy way instead of falling back on what you’d expect an embroidered clutch to be. The design is erratic enough to avoid rigorous geometry, and there’s enough detail that the design feels luxurious and would look appropriate at a party where most people are wearing and carrying sparkly little things.
