Chic handbags in high quality do not have to be super exclusive, crack your bank account and cost your husband’s last nerve. Afterall, you won’t have to justify these two purchases that I am about to suggest, as they are actually very reasonably priced. Coming from Banana Republic are the $98 bamboo-accent leather slouch and the $48 python-embossed hard clutch.
The slouch comes in pink ice and plain white and gives off a tropical touch with its bamboo links and golden metal hardware. The outer is made of leather while its inside is made of cotton twill lining. Its shoulder strap drops 8 1/2 inches, while the overall dimensions measure 8 3/4″ x 15 3/4″ x 1/2″.
Banana’s hard clutch is a cute gem that I truely adore. Its rectangular box shape, along with the Italian leather’s faux python emboss, satin twill lining on the inside and golden metal trim round off this wonderful clutch. Even more wonderful is the price. For $48 this clutch in sarong red or white is a true steal. Get ‘em while they’re hot!
I have this in a banana-yellow (I don’t know if that color is still available) and I can attest that it is super-cute and very reasonably priced.
It reminded me of Gucci’s bamboo- accented accessories. But a lot less money.
Upon seeing this bag, felt a large pang of regret for splurging on a similar but much more expensive botkier holster in white. Really wanted the perfect white bag for summer, and was not patient enough to find a deal. Must say the leather of the botkier bag is much more supple than the BR, but who really cares.
JJ- the banana yellow color was divine!! I’m not fully sure if they carry it in the stores right now, I’ll take a look on my weekend shopping!! I saw the same similarities with the bamboo Gucci styles- but the BR is so much cheaper and if you don’t have the money to blow, BR is more than good enough!
AJ- As much as the Botkier Holster may have cost more, it was worth it! The leather used by Botkier is so soft and supple like you said, so don’t feel bad! Everyone is allowed to splurge here and there
Update on yellow bag for those who care…I saw it in a BR store (along with pink and white) yesterday. They also had the metallic bag, which is similarly structured and has the bamboo segments in gold-tone.
Also, eBay has a few of these bags, so you may be able to get the bag for even less than in the store.
