Christian-Louboutin-20th-Anniversary-Artemis-Plume-Shoulder-Bag

It’s no surprise that Christian Louboutin, a man who found success by adorning the soles of shoes with red lacquer, would look to find a way to distinguish himself in the handbag market by putting his own flourish on an under-appreciated part of the handbag anatomy: the strap. Thus comes Louboutin’s line of Artemis bags, which feature makeshift epaulets adorned with everything from violent-looking spikes to the more exuberant multicolored feathers of the Christian Louboutin 20th Anniversary Artemis Plumes Shoulder Bag.

Artemis was the Greek goddess of the hunt, wild animals and the wilderness, among other things, so the bright plumage on this particular Artemis Bag makes more sense than some of the others. Would you carry something this…bold? Check out how it looks on a model after the jump, and then let’s discuss.

It’s kind of crazy, but it’s also kind of fun, right? It makes the bag totally non-versatile – no crossbody wear, no tucking the strap inside and carrying it as a clutch – but if you’ve got the extra money to blow on a python bag with a giant feather epaulet, then you’ve probably already got enough clutches and crossbodies in your closet that it wouldn’t have to do double duty. And if you do buy it and you’re feeling even more spendy, get the Victoria Beckham dress with which Net-a-Porter styled it, too – the blue is a perfect accent for the feathers, and the dress is minimal enough that it provides a perfect canvas for the bag’s plumage. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $8995. (We told you it was crazy.) If you’re interested, the coordinating Beckham dress is $2135, also via Net-a-Porter.

I love it. If I had the money, I would totally wear this. It is fun and colorful and makes me smile.

I suggest to pair up the bag with this sexy number:

At first I said, WTH?  Then after I saw it on, I was sold.  Beautiful, but I would be scared that the feathers would come off.

  • Silversun

Wow, I love the look of it. But I’d have to put it into the “too hard to wear” category.

    One word… “Rio” !!!

Very chic and adds style to the dress!
