While Chloe may be my homegirl, she has done a number that has turned my head away pretty quickly. The Chloe Python Hobo looks more like a horse saddle with chains than anything else to me. The only difference it has than the horse saddle is that it is a little more posh than rustic, with some metallic gold python blinging in your eyes. I don’t know if there is really a part of this bag that I like- I guess the only thing that doesn’t seem awful to me is the push-lock closure on the front flap. Other than that, I got nothing. I can handle exotic skins and I can handle metallic, but I sure can’t handle overly gold metallic python skin, golden hardware, and a chain shoulder strap with rings. Is it just me or is this hobo too much?

Sizing up at 11″H x 13″W x 5 1/2″D, I give each inch of this thing a no thanks. If you are up for the gold rush, you can find this hobo through Saks for $915.

To my surprise, after being on Net-A-Porter for a few days, the 2006 Chloe Paddingtons still aren’t sold out! Usually it does not take not longer than 45 minutes for the hungry internet mob to buy out the whole store’s Chloe handbag inventory, but I guess NAP must have stocked up on Paddies for the Xmas season quite heavily.

The Chloe Paddington Lizard Satchel is completely edgy to say the least. This lizard bag is not just simple lizard, but silver washed metallic lizard with black leather trim. Only the bold and fashionably forward can sport a bag like this without feeling like the bag is overpowering them. There is also beautifully accenting silver metal hardware with stud detail and shoulder straps with rings. While some designers are known for specific bags, it is ok for them to venture off the beaten path from time to time. Take Chloe handbags for example; known for it’s Paddington and Silverado, but the company has decided to capture our fascination with some other designs. Totally intriguing and different is the Chloe Small Hampton Handle Bag. I haven’t really seen a bag with this kind of shape yet (or I am just biased and try to believe that I haven’t, since I’m a huge Chloe fan). So let’s see what this bag has to offer. First of all, like I said before, this shape is completely unique and draws you in. Made of tan leather and accented in golden hardware, the bag can also been worn with many outfits for many occasions. I suspect you can dress this bag up or down. Next we see the top handle with red trim. There is not a big drop there, so I am guessing that it is meant to be held with the hand or on the arm, but I wouldn’t mind. The shape looks structured and slouchy all in one (yes, that sure is an oxymoron!). Along with all the above jazz, there is also stud detail and the clever framed front coin pocket with the Chloe logo lock. Do you feel drawn in yet? I sure am. Overall size is 8 2/3″H x 12 2/3″W x 5″D. With all the different aspects for the brand, the price is all too familiar. If you want it bad enough, your gonna have to shell out $1275 via Saks.

How lucky would a Doctor be if she could carry a Chloe bag? Even luckier, if it were the coveted Python bag. Well this is the M.D.’s lucky day, because the Chloe Python Doctor’s Bag is now in! I knew I should have listened to my mom and pursued my M.D.!! I suppose there is still time. Or maybe, I can deviate from the bags name, and nab myself this beauty without the M.D. after my lousy name. After purchasing my beautiful Paddington, I just can not get enough of this brand. This absolutely positively most divine bag shows off a chocolaty python with brass hardware and supple leather trim. I must apologize to all you Cali peeps in advance, because you are S.O.O.L (I’m not sure if that acronym even exists, but I just made it up anyway- cause I felt like it!). We may envy you living in Orange County, or 90210, but the rest of the 49 nifty states are allowed to get our hands on this bag (that is, if we ever get on/off the hugeee list), while you California people are not allowed to have python products sold or delivered to your state. Sucks to be you! (Actually, I am wondering if you can buy it in a different state then take it to Cali- any of you know??). The smaller shape doctor’s bag sizes up at 8″H x 17 1/2″W x 6 1/3″D and may be the perfect new edition you have been looking for. Hop on the list for pre-order via Saks. Oh yea, this dazzling bag is going to cost you $2,150. Yikes.

Granted, not everyone has the monetary assets to buy bags that sell for thousands of dollars. The Chloe Paddington may only go for about a grant and a half, but then its availability (or lack thereof) creates another big issue that potential ‘it’ bag buyers must face. While Megs was lucky to have bought one of the last burgundy red Paddies available for this year (via the Chloe stores), others were not that lucky this year. The demand for Paddies was just overwhelming, I remember the lady at the Paris store laughing at me when I inquired for the precious bags a few weeks back. Please take a slip and wait in line… make yourself comfortable ‘cuz it’s gonna be a long wait – that’s as close of a description of what her laugh tried to tell me.

A viable alternative to those who want to get a piece of the paddilicious pie is the $360 Chloe Paddington Wallet. Yes ladies, the matching wallet to the infamous bag. Did I mention all Paddies have silver YKK zippers, no matter what the color of bag or handware? If I were a doctor, carrying a high end designer’s ‘doctor bag’ is what I would do. Yes, that was partially a joke- so it is ok to laugh. I know that doctor bags don’t mean they are for doctor’s to carry (just clearing the air since I am blond after all), but wouldn’t that be quite the stylish Dr. move? Chloe bags have been having the best weeks ever lately. The name signifies the “it” bags which are virtually impossible to get your hands on. Some styles more than others are proving quite challenging (like my beloved Paddington), but overall the brand has shot through the roof. This new style of the Silverado is quite appealing and adds a new shape to the line of Chloe. The Chloe Silverado Doctor Bag is made of dark brown leather and gives off quite the statement. The hardware on the bag is golden antiqued and the bag shows off large stud accents. The signature Silverado look comes into play with the whipstitched trim on the top handles and on the side flap pockets. After a 13 hour drive, we finally got the wine red Chloe Paddington Net-A-Porter (Chloe’s official online vendor) confirmed that they wouldn’t get any more of the red paddies in stock this year, so calling up all the European boutiques, we finally found available paddies in the Chloe store in Munich’s Maximilianstrasse #22. They only had one more blue, one light/bright red and one dark red available as of yesterday evening. We compared the three shades and ended up walking home with the wine red — 995 Euros poorer. The bright red was just too bright, the darker one just seemed more classy and more versatile overall than the blue. According to the sales lady, many people who had their paddies reserved went on vacation and didn’t pick them up on time. I guess it pays off inquring frequently with the boutiques, as they have a certain holdtime on the bags, and occasionally seem to release a few for public sale.

We all know by now that Chloe Paddingtons rank among the most demanded fashion accessories of this year. The slouchy leather look along with the golden padlock just turn on classy celebs as well as make average Janes drool over its sight like Pavlovian dogs. While the regular Paddies sell like hotcakes and buying one is a pain in the rear end (we’re trying to get one ourselves… sigh), this Chloe Lizard Paddington will stick around the online store for a while, considering its hefty price tag of 4,800 Euros — at today’s exchange rate close to $6,000.
