It seems like all of our favorite bags are getting major upgrades for fall. First the Fendi 2Jours went alligator, and now the Givenchy Antigona Bag has debuted in an ultra-expensive crocodile version, beating the price of the 2Jours by nearly $8,000. If you’re bargain-minded and also fabulously rich, I suppose Givenchy just made your purchase decision for you. (more…)

Here’s model/actress/exquisite dresser Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, heading into a London studio for a shoot, carrying a Givenchy Lucrezia Bag. This Lucrezia looks a little flashier than most because of the chain trim, which is quite the contrast to the white Dolce & Gabbana bag we spotted Rosie carrying at Cannes. You can find Rosie’s exact Givenchy Lucrezia for $2,995 at Neiman Marcus.
Cannes was absolutely overrun with supermodels and fabulous designer handbags this year (and probably every year), and you can see all of our favorites in “The Many Bags of Cannes Film Festival 2014 Attendees”. Rosie also has her very own edition of “The Many Bags of…”, of course, and she’s probably due for a follow-up “Many Bags” sometime in the near future.
The Givenchy Antigona Bag is not new; in fact, the design first debuted in late 2011. Unlike other designs, which are lucky to be in the limelight a few seasons in a row, the Antigona has not only stayed relevant and well-loved, but there’s also been a recent surge in popularity for this Givenchy design.
Season after season, the Antigona continues to lure in fashion’s elite, and clearly the design speaks to the accessory lovers. Unlike many other bags, this design is entirely simplistic, but that is clearly what the consumer wants. We crave cleaner designs, beautiful lines and a bag that stands out for its impeccable style without being overly trendy; the Antigona delivers just that in a pretty package.
With all the renditions out there, there are three that have my attention right now: a light sugar-cookie pink, an alluring hue of beige and creamy ocean blue. I simply love each of these bags, and while I want to pick one for myself, I can’t decide on just one – it’s like asking me to pick my favorite child. I’ve held out on adding an Antigona to my collection for a few years, but now the yearning is so great that I feel like I have to take the plunge.
I need your help – which Givenchy Antigona should I get?

Here’s Rihanna, hanging out courtside with BFF Melissa Forde at the Clippers NBA playoff game at the Staples Center in LA. RiRi is matching her pink wig to her pink Givenchy Lucrezia Bag, which begs the question, which came first? The bag or the wig? It’s a real chicken/egg conundrum for our times. You can find Rihanna’s napa leather Givenchy duffel bag in a bright green hue for $1,965 at Barneys.
When we’re mentally ranking the celebs who are consistently carrying amazing designer bags or wearing amazing designer shoes (which we do often, in this game), Rihanna is always at the top of both lists. Her sprawling stash of designer wares can really only be rivaled by the likes of Kim Kardashian or Reese Witherspoon. You can see all of Rihanna’s best bags, shoes, and looks in “The Many Bags of Rihanna”, and “The Many Bags of Rihanna, Part 2″.
Here’s celeb stylist and Bravo reality show star Rachel Zoe, leaving a fancy private party in LA with a Givenchy Antigona Rottweiler Pouch in hand. The Rottweiler bags were originally released a couple of years ago, but they’ve since been reissued because of their massive popularity. The clutch does not seem to be available online at the moment, but you can find the Rottweiler tote for $1,085 at Barneys.
Rachel Zoe seems to be on a Givenchy kick as of late – we saw her carrying a sleek black Givenchy Lucrezia Bag with croc panels just last month. You can marvel at the depth and breadth of Rachel’s designer handbag collection in “The Many Bags of Rachel Zoe”, and take a peep inside her handbag du jour in “What’s In Her Bag: Rachel Zoe.”
We’ve talked previously about menswear’s recent, vibrant facelift, especially when it comes to the accessory market’s various printed and patterned bags. Designers have gone beyond the traditional stripes and plaids that are often associated with menswear, and these new choices indicate an edgier and more androgynous approach. To continue with this list, we have the signature Givenchy rose camouflage print in the form of a simple nylon backpack.
Givenchy’s floral pattern is a spring must-have in womenswear, and because Givenchy tends to play fast and loose with the distinctions between its men’s and women’s lines, it was only a matter of time before this print arrived in the men’s collection. For all the men who like to make a great street style impression, you won’t go unnoticed with this flamboyant accessory. I would definitely steal this bag from my guy friends.
Buy your Givenchy Floral Backpack through Bergdorf Goodman for $1,125.
Rachel Zoe was recently spotted running errands on her home turf with husband Rodger and son Skyler. Here’s Rachel carrying a black Givenchy Lucrezia Bag with a croc panel while picking up a few items at the Malibu Country Mart. You can find a similar black Lucrezia with a quilted panel for $2,450 at Barneys. We had the pleasure of profiling Rachel Zoe for one of our hugely popular “What’s In Her Bag” features last year, and we suggest you check it out. (Spoiler: the woman loves NARS!)
Bad news, Bravo fans: Rachel Zoe recently decided to axe her reality show after five seasons in order to spend more time with her kids. (She gave birth to a second son named Kaius back in December.) While she’s taking an indefinite break from TV, she’ll naturally continue working as a celeb stylist and brand consultant, as well as publishing The Zoe Report and producing her signature Rachel Zoe line, which you can shop via ShopBop.
By now, we’re all used to Givenchy’s handbag MO: a solid stable of distinctive, fan-favorite shapes, made over for each season with a few tweaked details and one or two hyper-distinctive prints. In the recent past, it’s been gonzo florals, cartoon deer and the Virgin Mary, but for Givenchy Fall 2014, creative director Riccardo Tisci is taking a largely stripped-down approach to his brand’s accessories.
We can account for part of the shift as a result of this collection being, technically pre-fall; Givenchy refers to its big cold-weather collection as winter. Pre-fall collections are generally less directional and primarily consist of staple pieces that can bear a long shelf life, which means that there are likely still a few Givenchy accessory flourishes left to come before the year is over. It’s worth noting, though, that the brand’s Winter 2014 show was hugely ladylike, contrary to some of Givenchy’s recent streetwear leanings, and perhaps these bags are indicative of that evolution.

Amanda Seyfried was recently caught by the paps in the midst of a major “STARS: they’re just like us!” moment: grocery shopping at a Trader Joe’s in West Hollywood! Amanda looks refreshingly low-key here, with her tousled locks and athletic sweats. You’ll notice she’s accessorized her post-gym look with an eye-catching Givenchy Floral Nightingale Bag. You can buy Amanda’s exact bag for $2,690 at Barneys.
As you may know, Amanda has been the face of Givenchy for a couple of seasons now, and the brand often dresses her for red carpet events, as well as casual grocery runs. Amanda seems to prefer the particularly high-end European luxury goods: Prada, Bottega Veneta, Givenchy, and the like. (Don’t we all!) You can take a gander at her impressive assortment of designer handbags in “The Many Bags of Amanda Seyfried.”
Here’s Hilary Duff, leaving the gym in West Hollywood (in a pair of heels, no less!), clearly showered, blow-dried and ready to take on her post-workout day. She’s carrying both a Celine Luggage Tote and a Givenchy Antigona Bag – one bag for pre-gym, one bag for post-gym, I suppose? Celine bags aren’t sold online, but you can pick up a pale grey Givenchy Antigona similar to Hilary’s for $2,435 at Barneys.
If you’re shopping for a similar look at a markedly lower price point, do check out Amanda’s latest post in our ongoing “5 Under $500″ series: “5 Under $500: The Palest Shades of Grey.” As our regular readers well know, Hilary has an exceptional handbag collection – it’s so good, in fact, that it merits frequent revisiting. You can browse through all of her Celines and Givenchys in “The Many Bags of Hilary Duff” and “The Many Bags of Hilary Duff, Part Two.”
