Best-Fashion-Week-Handbags-of-All-Time

This morning marks the opening of another season of shows at New York Fashion Week, and when it’s over, we’ll be moving straight on to the collections in London, Milan and Paris. Although it’s exciting to see new lines debut and new trends take shape, on of our favorite parts of Fashion Week is the opportunity to see how show attendees, both famous and not-so-famous, express their own personal style on the way to and from shows.

Doing these celeb round-ups has really given me a more comprehensive idea of what celebs are carrying on any given week. (Amanda has always been the one tasked with wading through piles of celeb photos to make these selections, bless her.) It means I see almost 20 different bag selections every week instead of just five, which leads me to observations, like the fact that brands like Proenza Schouler and Chloé are more popular right now than you might suspect.

There weren’t quite as many clutches to be seen on the 2015 Grammys red carpet as there usually are at major awards shows, but the ones that were there are definitely worth looking at. Grammys fashion is always so pleasantly bonkers, and almost all of the clutches we spotted were special in one way or another.

Saint Laurent’s Sac de Jour has quietly-yet-deliberately infiltrated the hearts and minds of celebrities over the past year. It’s not that the bag itself is remarkable; it’s really not, which may be part of the appeal. It’s sort of an anti-“it” bag–classically styled and fairly inconspicuous, with minimal branding.

The-Many-Bags-of-Mel-B

Not long ago, former Spice Girl Melanie Brown, better known as Mel B or Scary Spice, made an appearance in one of our bi-weekly celebrity bag roundups. Several of you seemed particularly happy to see her (and she looked totally great and was carrying a beautiful bag), so we took that as inspiration to delve a bit deeper into the handbags she’s carried over her long career.

Apparently, all of the LA celebrities who opted not to make the trek to the Sundance Film Festival or Paris Couture last week decided to go shopping. I suspect there are far fewer crowds (of celebs) to wade through in Beverly Hills when these two events overlap.

Paris Couture Week is such a nice way to start a fashion season. Before the month-long slog of shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris, the industry’s best and brightest gather at a handful of shows to see the world’s most exquisite garments.

If you’re a film buff, you’re probably aware that the Sundance Film Festival is taking place as we speak. If you’re not a film buff, you’re probably vaguely aware of Sundance because it’s the one week of the year when all of your favorite celebs are randomly photographed wearing parkas and standing next to scenic, snowy mountain vistas.

Our celeb roundups are always full of ridiculously good looking people, but this week, we’ve got a full roster of a certain type of particularly enviable female celeb. You know the type: tall, slender, great legs, and even better jawlines. They’re the kind of women who get tapped to be the face of a new perfume, or more likely, the new face of a classic perfume that’s been around for ages.

The celebiverse is much more nuanced than you’d imagine, if you only followed along with People and Us Weekly. There are entire solar systems worth of celebrity stylists and fashion bloggers, many of whom you’re probably unaware of and not following on Instagram.
