People got excited for a hot minute when Kim Kardashian tweeted that she had dyed her hair blond again, but then Kim later burst everyone’s bubble by revealing via Instagram that her new blond locks were actually just a wig. Which is too bad, because I liked blond Kim. Here she is, reveling in her flaxen-haired deception for a day on the streets of NYC. Her bag is her trusty Hermes So Black Birkin, which works extremely well with Kanye’s uber-strict designer dress code.

Kim has been carrying this bag a lot recently – here she is holding it close at LAX last month, and here she is just last week in NYC, carrying it with another all-black ensemble. You can check out all of Kim’s many Birkins in “The Many, Many Bags of Kim Kardashian.” To her credit, she has only been seen carrying this hand-painted Hermes nightmare that Kanye gifted her last X-mas once.

Here’s Nicky Hilton, wandering lower Manhattan on her cell phone (as we so often see her doing), carrying what’s apparently her latest acquisition: the rather conspicuous Chanel No. 5 Perfume Bottle Clutch. This clutch is an extremely expensive runway piece that retails for a hefty five figure sum, and it’s very hard to come by. Unless you’re a Hilton, of course.

Nicky clearly has a good relationship with her local Chanel boutique, as evidenced by the vast quantity of the brand’s bags in “The Many Bags Nicky Hilton.” This is actually the second uber-pricey Chanel clutch we’ve seen Nicky carrying this month. Our spies spotted in her in Manhattan a few weeks ago with one of her favorites – the Chanel Boy Brick Clutch, which also retails for five figures.

I’m not even sure how to explain Anna Dello Russo. She’s a fashion luminary and Editor at Large for Vogue Nippon, but she’s also a street style caricature whose willingness to wear all of the most fabulous things, all at once, has helped change the way that everyone from high-ranking editors to budding bloggers conduct business. Love or her hate her, ADR is always worth looking at. (more…)

Air travel frequently calls for multiple carry-ons, which gives discerning handbag shoppers like Kate Upton ample opportunity to flaunt a few of their latest acquisitions. Here’s Ms. Upton arriving at the airport in NYC, carrying two bags: the little white croc-embossed one is a Rag & Bone Enfield Mini Shoulder Bag, and the big black one with intricate floral detailing is a Dior Bar Bag (named after the famous Dior bar-waist jackets). Dior doesn’t sell its bags online, of course, but you can pick up the Rag & Bone bag for $550 at Shopbop.

I enjoy how the random passersby in these pics all seem to be having the same epiphany at once: this person is far too attractive NOT to be a celebrity. (I’m sure the paparazzi cameras were also a big giveaway.) Kate was recently featured in our special, supermodels-only edition of our “Many Bags of” series, which you can find here. Her handbag collection isn’t quite big enough to merit her own “Many Bags” feature just yet, but that will certainly not be the case by this time next year.

Here’s Lady Gaga, arriving at her father’s restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, in NYC, carrying a vintage Hermes Kelly Bag that has been…well loved. Gaga has a history of carrying altered, or, depending on your perspective, “defaced,” Hermes bags, so it’s not a stretch to think that she likes the half-destroyed look of this one. You can find pre-owned Hermes Kelly bags in far superior condition for sale on Portero.

We’ve seen Gaga with a similar Hermes Kelly Bag before, so it’s possible that she and this Kelly have simply been through a lot together, and she feels compelled to continue carrying it for purely sentimental reasons. Or maybe a busted Hermes bag is just a key component of her unique vision for this particular fashion ensemble. You can see all of her ladyship’s favorite Hermes bags (and wonderfully bizarre outfits) in “The Many Bags of Lady Gaga.”

Actress Sophia Bush was recently seen leaving lunch at a restaurant in West Hollywood, carrying a Givenchy Antigona Bambi Tote. Givenchy tends to gravitate towards extremes when it comes to prints. They do abstractions of Disney characters, pretty florals and snarling Rottweilers, and they’re all wildly popular. (Though I must admit, I was curious to see what sort of celeb would carry the Bambi print. Mystery solved.) Sophia’s bag is available for pre-order for $1,145 at Barneys.

For a sampling of Givenchy’s other print offerings, you can check out the Givenchy Antigona Rottweiler Pouch we recently saw in the hands of Rachel Zoe, or this Givenchy Floral Nightingale Bag we saw Amanda Seyfried carrying several months ago. Givenchy fans will also be pleased to know that we just posted a preview of Givenchy’s Fall-Winter 2014 collection earlier this week, and you can take a peek at that here.

Here’s Lauren Conrad, eating at Lemonade in West Hollywood with friends, carrying the same muted pink Balenciaga Papier A4 Tote we saw her with in West Hollywood a few months ago. (I do like to see celebs getting more than one or two uses out of their handbags before sending them to celebrity handbag purgatory. Respect.) You can find a similar calfskin leather tote from Balenciaga’s Pre-Spring collection for $1,735 at Barneys.

Lauren Conrad’s designer handbag collection is just as classic and calculated as you might expect – there’s a lot of Chanel, a lot of oversized totes, and a lot of wear-with-anything neutral hues and natural leathers. There’s nothing too trendy (aside from the occasional “IT” bag of yesteryear) or too risky – each of LC’s acquisitions are solid investment pieces. You can form your own opinion, of course, by taking a lengthy gander at “The Many Bags of Lauren Conrad.”

Russian supermodel (and repeat Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover girl) Irina Shayk was recently spotted hanging out with a couple of friends in Soho. She’s carrying a bright, cobalt blue Hermes Birkin, of course. It’s surprising to see Irina in the city when her boyfriend, Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, is currently playing for his home country of Portugal in the World Cup. Irina has not yet made an appearance in Brazil, but she definitely appears in our “50+ Bags on the Arms of Our Favorite Supermodels.”

In other quasi-related handbag designer/World Cup news, Louis Vuitton has designed the hard case for the coveted World Cup trophy once again this year. (The brand also had the honor in 2010.) They’ve gone with their classic monogram canvas, for maximum brand exposure during the big reveal. You can see LV’s case design and the 2014 World Cup trophy here.

Sarah Jessica Parker is as close to a true original as actresses get these days. She’s made her own way, and now she occupies a beloved space in pop culture (and especially in fashion) that gives her the ability simply to be loved by being her. When she launched a shoe line at Nordstrom, of course every fashion site on the Internet covered it feverishly. Sex and the City ended long ago, but SJP endures.

We’ve already taken one thorough look at Sarah Jessica’s bag collection, but that was back at the tail end of 2012, and she’s done a lot of bag-carrying in the intervening year and a half. Below, check out everything that everyone’s favorite West Village resident has been sporting since then.

Here’s Brazilian supermodel Adriana Lima, enjoying the luxuries of being rich and beautiful in Miami Beach, toting a Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Neverfull Tote. Although Neverfulls are pretty expensive, and this one in particular is quite rare, Neverfulls actually do make pretty great beach totes for those with the funds, as long as you don’t mind getting a little sand in the lining. They’re extremely lightweight, roomy and durable.

Adriana’s bright, bold bag is a nice change of pace from the onslaught of muted pink Louis Vuitton Soft Lockits we’ve seen celebs carrying over the last several weeks. We recently posted an extremely comprehensive guide to the Louis Vuitton Neverfull, which is a must-read if you’re planning on acquiring one any time in the near future. You can also check out more of Adriana’s choice designer handbags in our special feature “50+ Bags on the Arms of Our Favorite Supermodels.”
