Sarah Jessica Parker was recently spotted walking in the West Village in NYC (where she lives and is constantly haunted by paps) carrying a lovely tan and white colorblock Michael Kors Large Miranda Tote. At first I thought this bag might be some new, oversized version of the Miranda, but then I remembered how petite SJP is – she’s not just slender, she’s tiny in a general way.

Here’s Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta coming out of a building in NYC, playing the part of exorbitantly wealthy (yet slightly confused) ingénue this week, instead of walking piece of performance art that she was days ago. (We love you both ways, Lady Gaga. Don’t ever change.) She’s carrying a Versace Medusa Tote, which is from the Spring 2014 runway and, as you might suspect, not available to the masses just yet.
Jessica Biel recently attended a MoMA 2013 Film Benefit in NYC while wearing an assortment of exciting Chanel goodies. Her white dress is actually from the Chanel Resort 2014 collection, and while it wasn’t exactly intended for autumnal wear, I think she makes it work here with the right accessories. Her gorgeous clutch is a very special Chanel Lego Pearl Clutch.
While going through literally thousands of pictures of Alessandra Ambrosio yesterday, one thing struck me above all else: being Alessandra Ambrosio must be a pretty great gig. The Victoria’s Secret superstar has two beautiful children, a handsome husband and an enormously successful career predicated on her own innate attractiveness. On top of all that, she doesn’t seem to sweat the paparazzi nonsense too much, unlike some of the celebs we’ve profiled in the past.
I’ve been up to my eyeballs in pictures of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley lately, but I really can’t complain because Rosie has a great sense of style – one that’s on par with Miranda Kerr’s, even. (YES, I said it.) Admittedly, her style is a tad more casual (and a little more English, if that makes sense), but much like Miranda, she never steps out on to the street without looking immaculately put-together.
Celine, meet Celine! Here’s Celine Dion, returning to her NYC hotel, clutching a Celine Classic Box Bag in leopard calf hair and black leather. This Celine-on-Celine action particularly tickles me because enterprising streetwear entrepreneurs have already emblazoned parody t-shirts with the Celine Dion name in the style of Celine’s brand logo. (Here’s an example on eBay.) Seeing Celine carrying something from the French brand is like a hilarious fashion dream come true.
As we’re putting together features for our much beloved “The Many Bags of…” series, the long-term bag-carrying habits of certain celebs are always brought to light. Case in point: “The Many Bags of Jennifer Garner” perfectly illustrated Jennifer Garner’s almost exclusive preference for neutrals. But, stars are human, and they’re allowed to change it up a bit every now and then.
Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio was recently spotted leaving lunch at Joan’s on 3rd in West Hollywood carrying a Michael Kors Miranda Tote. (She’s dressed quite appropriately for autumn in L.A., don’t you think?) This Miranda features leather side panels and tonal, dip-dyed calf hair on the front. I think the calf hair, combined with its vague resemblance to a Celine Phantom Luggage Tote, make this bag look about twice as expensive as it actually is.
Oh, Lady Gaga. Here’s her ladyship exiting her hotel in London, tempting fate and testing the patience of fashion lovers everywhere with a particularly outlandish hat choice. (I enjoy how all the Brits in these pics look particularly blasé about the whole situation.) When regarded individually, everything she’s wearing is pretty amazing, though I contend that her hat belongs in a museum and not on the head of an actual human being, for obvious reasons.
Kelly Ripa owns a weird little spot in my heart. I’m generally averse to morning show-style patter and generally avoid wakeup television except for the Charlie Rose-helmed CBS Morning Show. (In case you’ve always suspected that I’m a senior citizen masquerading as a 20-something New Yorker, there’s another piece of evidence for your conspiracy.) Every now and then, though, I stumble across Live with Kelly and Michael, and I’m struck by how warm, quick and funny Kelly is.
