The bags of Burbery Fall 2010 are kind of a shame when you consider the brilliant collection from whence they came. Not only are they plain and boring, but they weren’t even close to being the most interesting leather pieces in the show – that honor went to the many heavily-detailed leather jackets and vests that graced the runway.

For all the intricate leather work that clearly went into the jackets, the handbags were shown none of the same attention by Christopher Bailey & Co. In fact, they were arguably the lowest point of a line I really, truly loved in almost every way. I don’t mind purses being used as bright, poppy accents to a larger look, but designers should at least take the time to make the bags special as well. The latticed python seen on a few pieces was an interesting-enough technique, but the simplistic shapes don’t do anything to help the cause. Full pictures, after the jump.

I’m not feeling the size or retro-90s look of these but I do like that people can order these bags on-line from Burberrys now (until Tues 28th) and recieve them before they even hit the stores (7weeks).

Most of them are kind of chintzy looking in my opinion. Almost like the bags themselves were afterthoughts. I didn’t like the brights colors used with the belts. It doesn’t seem to mesh very well.

Amanda, we are on the same page. numbers 1, 2, and 11 bags are the same shape as a coach bag i bought almost 25 years ago (except Christopher Bailey updated it with more modern colors)…the clothes in this collection is to die for and while the bags are cute, they will probably be overpriced for what it is!

I am absolutely in love with the bright colors they’re using!

This collection looks incredibly cheap and the rocker chic vibe is soooo 2008!

I like these bags because their very unique, so you wont see your bag in everyone else’ hands. Nice! I’m also following on Twitter as ‘ChicgoStyleInfo’

Well put, Burberry in general is cheap and tacky and this collection is no exception, also was it just me or did Bailey and his cohorts just take the sleeve and shoulder from those Celine motorbike jackets and put them on the Burberry trench…….

I like the look of the lattice python as well, but you hit the money on this one. It’s a yawner.

Bailey is a fantastic designer like his creations are!! So this bag are so itneresting because the classic pattern of the maison, the check, is reinterpretated by the mix with the piton skin…the result? A perfect, glamour and chic bag!!!!

Am I the only person that thinks that these look cheap? I have seen better bags from Nine West. What’s so bad is that they are going to charge an arm and a leg for them.

These bags are crap…their bags doesnt look cheap and tacky all the time…just this collection. Having said that…the men’s collection are getting better and better

I can’t believe those colors. #8 reminds me exactly of a pair of jelly shoes I used to have and while I loved my jellies, I am also no longer 4 years old!!

I am sorry but these are the fugliest things.

I loved some of these bags but then I am a huge fan of teal, aqua, mint, etc. especially in the summer. I am not as into the very simple ones as into the ones with intricate detail which I do love very much. They are definitely very Un-Burberry like but then they have been coming out with more and more styles that differ from their usual which is good for those that are not into the plaid pattern which I have to admit I am a big fan of too but it is still nice in my opinion that they come out with totally different stuff too. Tastes very from people to people, this is definitely a collection that some will love and some will hate.

i don’t know fellas but i think this has been done before.. i mean long rectangular slim clutch/ purse concept..
but i do like the fact that most of them featured on top has extra strap – to enable shoulder carry.. so, that’s a plus in my book! (ipad)
