My love for the Burberry check pattern ended a few years ago. I went from love love loving it, to just thinking it was ok, to not liking it much at all. There are a few reasons, one being that it gets old fast. Another being that similar to the LV Monogram, the Burberry Nova Check pattern is counterfeited very often. Be wary of Burberry bag deals, many will be fakes. Recently I fell head of heels in love with the Burberry Belted Leather Tote and that got my thought pattern back on checking our Burberry Bags.
And as much as the check pattern is so over for me, I also am still drawn to it when Burberry can reinvent it some. That is precisely why I love the Burberry Shimmer Tote which is overhauled with the classic plaid pattern in shades of gray cotton with a touch of Lurex shimmer. The bag is quite simple, just cotton trimmed with leather. But it is such a great fall bag. Actually, it has me thinking of fall outfits so much that I am intensely missing having four seasons rather than sunshine year round. The other perk is the double top handles or detachable shoulder strap, which you all know I love the option of the two. There is a zip top and one large inside pocket and a cell phone and PDA pocket. When the bag is flat, dimensions are 15¼”W X 16¼”H X ½”. Buy through Saks for $895.

I would buy this and I just love Burberry re-inventions! This bag is quintessentially Fall/Autumn. Grey, creamy white and black, one of my all-time favorite color combinations too. It’s probably very light.I don’t see anything wrong with the Novacheck pattern as long as it’s done in a classy way and is the only Burberry item being worn.
I love Burberry, but for some reason this doesn’t wow me. Maybe until I see it in IRL it might change. However, I do fancy the price. $895 is a great price! I’m shopping for the most perfect and reasonably priced big everyday bag and might get this one or a Bal bag. Either way, if this is slouchy and soft as it looks, I might add it to my wishlist.

I like the colours on it, and it does remind me of fall, which is just what a bag should do this time of year.
They have other styles of this shimmer at Nieman Marcus site also…i like the shimmer bags just don’t like that gray/black color…I prefer the gold shimmer stuff when it came out
Im British and unfortunately Burberry has been ruined for me as it has become the symbol of cheap wannabes in Britain ie Footballers wives, big bro contestants and worse thugs and what we call Chavs.
