Bottega Veneta

I’m usually a bit dubious when Bottega Veneta decides to layer a pattern on top of their signature intrecciato woven leather. The material itself is so beautiful and luxurious that it seem a waste to mask it, and often the extra patterns compete with the weave’s natural lines.

This time, though, I think they got it right – the argyle pattern of the Bottega Veneta Argyle Veneta Intrec Argyle Boston Bag works on its own and with the weaving. (more…)

Bottega Veneta Paille Intreccio Nuvolato Maxi Veneta - $2,650

One of the most amazing aspects of my job is the opportunity to look at handbags in showrooms. It is triple the delight when the bags we are looking at are months away from being available to the general public. If you asked me five years ago what I would be doing today, this would not be on my list. But I am beyond thrilled it is.

Visiting the Bottega Veneta showroom was a highlight of our NYC trip. Just as we arrived in the showroom, we were greeted by a fresh set of Spring 2010 handbags. The bags had only been seen previously on the runway in Milan a week prior. Now it was our turn to examine them closely in all of their glory.

When you look at a Bottega Veneta bag, one of the main aspects that intrigues me (and should be taken into consideration by any buyer) is how exactly the bag was made. Tomas Maier and the Bottega Veneta team continue to go above and beyond when creating their pieces. There is a story behind every item, every color, every technique, and every material. Now if we could have the pleasure of sitting down with Tomas Maier to see into his vision our lives would be complete. We can dream, right? (more…)

Reese Witherspoon Bottega Veneta Cabat One of the most coveted Bottega Veneta handbags is the Cabat. Hop over to the Bottega Veneta forum on the Purse Forum and you will find thread after thread of avid Cabat collectors. What is all the hype about?

The bag is relatively simple, an oversized tote with a woven body and double handles. But the love for this handbag runs deep. No one can seem to get enough. There are limited edition Cabats, like the Reflet Cabat we covered, along with classic Cabats that are released in seasonal colors. (more…)

Ah, my love of Bottega Veneta leather runs deep. So deep that I spent a good hour talking with Vlad and our friend at BV about every possible home item from Bottega Veneta I would use in my English Manor. Yes, an English Manor, which sounds entirely cool and fits nicely into my dream world. (more…)

Bottega Veneta Ebano Paillette Hobo

Bottega Veneta Boudoir Intrecciato Knot Clutch

As long as Bottega Veneta continues to bring us new Knot Clutches, we will continue to cover them. There is something inherently simple yet completely stunning about these clutches. The box shaped body with rounded edges and the knot closure make this bag easy to spot. The reincarnations of this bag is what keeps us on our toes.

The reason that I like the Bottega Veneta Boudoir Intrecciato Knot Clutch it that it brings volume and dimension to the design. (more…)

Here at Purse Blog our yearning for more supple leather almost always leads us to Bottega Veneta. We adore the understated simplicity of the designs and can not get enough of the super soft and luxurious leather. When our bank accounts grow to exorbitant levels, we will have our office and homes decked out in Bottega Veneta leather. That is how much we love it.

If you are looking for the most classic design from Bottega Veneta you need to check out the Bottega Veneta Maxi Veneta Hobo. The Veneta is the house staple, a chic hobo that brings together a simple yet timeless look with buttery soft woven leather. Intrecciato, the technique of weaving the leather, is synonymous with the brand. (more…)

Bottega Veneta Soft Crocodile Knot

Looks like Leighton Meester is Bottega Veneta’s latest muse. The stunning beauty continues to wear Bottega Veneta to red carpet events. While we adored her Bottega Veneta Nero Mineral Galuchat Knot she carried to the MTV VMA’s, we are equally as impressed with the luscious hue of red on the Bottega Veneta Soft Crocodile Knot she carried to the 2009 Emmy Awards. Bottega Veneta Nero Mineral Galuchat Knot

Last month we spent a day bringing you exclusives from Bottega Veneta. Hands down one of my favorite pieces from that day and ultimate favorite clutches ever is the Bottega Veneta Nero Galuchat Knot.

We covered the black version of this clutch and now we are equally obsessing over the cream version, color is called mineral. After spotting the Bottega Veneta Nero Mineral Galuchat Knot was spotted on Leighton Meester my level of love for this clutch catapulted into a realm that I can not put into words. Leighton’s look for the VMA’s was spot on. (more…)

I wrote about a Marc by Marc Jacobs man bag today for PurseBlog Savvy, and it got me thinking about man bags in general. Most of them are fairly unisex – a woman could easily use most of them as travel or office bags. Also, many are beautiful in their own right, although they don’t show up when I go looking for handbags to write about at Saks or Nordstrom. So I decided to go searching for one to gush over for the enjoyment of everyone here.

And did I ever find one. The Bottega Veneta Quilted Briefcase has some of the most gorgeous details of any man bag I’ve ever seen. (more…)

Bottega Veneta Metallic Leather Tote Every designer has their signature. Bottega Veneta’s is of course their woven leather, known as Intrecciato. When a designer departs from their signature the end product can turn out totally wrong or better yet the end product can turn out magnificently. Bottega Veneta rarely misses with their bags. Some say they err on the side of caution, but I believe they know what a quality timeless product is and they continue to stand behind their work. The stunning gold metallic leather paired with the simple design of Bottega Veneta Metallic Leather Tote creates a different but lust-worthy look for Bottega Veneta.

Would it be entirely odd if I said I want to stuff this bag with a pillow and then cuddle with it? Bottega Veneta leathers never disappoint. After touching one of their bags you will begin to yearn for leather that supple and soft. And when you do not find it on another bag you will begin to crave BV leathers and dislike the others. This tote is entirely simple. The chain-link and leather straps add a nice touch up top as the wave seams at the bottom break up the rest of the tote. Dimensions are 28″W X 12″H X 8″D. Some may find this boring, but it is just another well-made design from Bottega Veneta that I could look at all day. Buy through Saks for $1950.
