I agree with Elsie on this particular bag. But back to your question Shannon..."But, is it worth pinching pennies for a designer handbag you’ve been lusting over?" My opinion is a resounding yes! If you love the bag, and place a value on it that corresponds with the price then get it.

Yes, many Bottega Veneta bags comes with a price tag, which is enough to feed a entire family. Im a BV fan myself, and have seen this bag IRL.

I believe the python leather, and the quilted design contributed to the expensive price tag. BV's exotic leather articles are very pricey.

In my opinion, I think this bag is unique, and BV is almost timeless. But maybe interested parties can consider the black version! I prefer the black version more.

I'm not a fan of this clutch and it's too pricey. After all, it's just a clutch. In general I'd rather spend that kind of $ on a handbag because I don't carry clutches too often. I'd get more use out of a handbag.

I love BV, but this one looks a bit too vintage for my liking, and the price is outrageous - you could get vintage python (or a Lucille de Paris crocodile bag) for a lot less. As for investment pieces, I consider the bags I truely love investment because I invest in the massive smile that appears on my face everytime I look at them. Exclusivity really doesn't matter to me, and besides, all major brands that make 'limited editions' decide to continue those limited lines and thus they become less exclusive (i.e. LV, Prada's fairy etc.). If looked at investment from a price/durablility/price-per-use point of view I'd say the best bag I own is my Mulberry Bayswater, which I've used almost every day since I got her in June - and I think she'll be with me for a long long time, thus becoming a better investment as time goes by.

Too pricey. You could get a great exotic bag for that price. I am actually surprised it costs so much, but it is beautiful!
