Bottega Veneta

Bottega Veneta Sticks With Its Favorites for Resort 2016

Bottega Veneta is impressive in a lot of ways–materials, construction, longevity–but perhaps most impressive is the brand’s refusal to float along with the trends of the moment. At Bottega, creative director Tomas Maier instead uses brand signatures, woven intrecciato leather and beyond, to construct a wardrobe of bags that real, grown women would be proud to wear. Bottega Veneta’s Resort 2016 handbags are for adults, just like the brand’s bags always are.

Bottega is, in some ways, the anti-Moschino; where that brand appeals to the nostalgic teen in all of us, Bottega appeals to how we imagine the best, most capable, most luxurious version of ourselves. That means the bags aren’t necessarily head-turners, but they’re all beautiful upon inspection. That’s just how the Bottega woman likes it, though; in Tomas Maier’s world, a little discretion goes a long way.
