Happy President’s Day! To everyone who has a 3 day weekend, hope you are enjoying it! For the unlucky folks chained to their desks today, here’s a little post we hope will cheer you up. Like nearly every holiday, President’s Day is an excuse to throw some serious markdowns your way, and it’s about time! It’s been about a month since all the after-holiday sales finished up, which is WAY too many weeks of full-price shopping for my taste.

Valentine’s Day is never as bad (or good, depending) as anyone expects it will be, so I’m hoping everyone survived with minimal relationship strife and binge-eating of ice cream. If you’re still looking for a way to self-medicate (or if you just want to wile away some time at work on a Friday), we’ve done that thing we always do: scoured the Internet for the best sale bags out there.
Early February is a bit of a weird time to be shopping. Most of the great sales have drawn to a close, but spring collections haven’t quite yet made their full thrust into stores and shopping sites. It’s even harder if you’re a sale fiend – there are deals to be had, but they can be few and far between if you don’t know where to look.
Ladies, if you know me, you know my penchant for Kate Spade. Imagine my delight when I was told to spread word about the Kate Spade Surprise Sale. (Just launched! Skip my rambling and shop it now!) Save up to 75% for 2 days only on select items.

How, exactly, are we already at February? I didn’t even realize we were anywhere close. (Apologies to my landlord – the check’s in the mail), and yet, here we are, celebrating a new month on this chilly Friday. It’s chilly in New York, anyway – if it’s not chilly where you are, may I suggest inviting me over for a few weeks?
Fortunately for everyone who loves handbags, Valentino has been absolutely killing it lately. The Rockstud collection is as popular as ever, the new bags that come out every season are somehow more covetable than the ones that came before them, and the brand seems to have really found its overall aesthetic stride. Valentino looks very Valentino lately, and that’s a wonderful thing.
I feel like I know you guys at this point, so I’m going to be straight with you: I’m feeling a little bit under the weather today. (Wash your hands and take your vitamins, kids, it’s really going around this winter.) With that in mind, I’d like to get directly to the heart of the matter: it’s Friday, and that means we have some bags that you might want to buy on the (relatively) cheap.
Remember how I said last week that it seemed like the week that never ended? Well, somehow, this week seemed like it took even longer. Don’t ask me how. The good news, though, is that we’re all one work day away from the weekend, and for some of us, it’s going to be a long weekend. The other good news, of course, is that we’re got a fresh crop of handbags that have been put on sale for your shopping pleasure.
If you’ve never considered participating in an auction, now might be the time to try. Even a traditional auction through a house like Heritage Auctions is often the source of amazing deals on rare, limited edition or hard-to-find bags, often because the majority of bag buyers either don’t know to look there or are intimidated by the mechanics of a non-eBay auction.
My fellow Proenza Schouler-obsessed friends, rejoice. The brand is back on Rue La La today at 11 AM EST, which means savings on brand favorites like the PS11 (couldn’t you just die over the color pictured?) and various iterations of the PS1 in amazing colors. I should also mention that there are shoes (!).
Getting your hands on the brand’s insta-cool products at a markdown isn’t an opportunity that comes around all that often, and while I totally respect a luxury brand’s need to maintain their allure and manage the brand through extremely limited discounting…I just can’t help myself.
