So, for those of you avid Purse Blog readers, you have already read about the Net-A-Porter Summer Clearance Sale that is going on (thanks Megs). Originally, selected items were being offered at a 20% discounted price. However, lucky for us, there is now an additional promotion going on. When checking out through Net-A-Porter, enter the special promotion code “Summer” and receive an additional 20% off of selected items. Let’s be honest here, no matter how much extra cash you have to drop when out shopping, it is always nice to get a killer handbag, dress, or pair of shoes… ON SALE! To expand just a bit more, I have to say I hate when huge Sales are announced and then I arrive and see nothing but out-dated or flawed merchandise. Fortunately, this is not the case through the Net-A-Porter Sale. Check out the many deals they are offering not only for handbags but also clothing, shoes and accessories. In order to tempt you just a bit, take a look at some of the amazing deals below:

I have something I’d like to share. One day, I promise all of you reading I will own a Jimmy Choo handbag. That’s right, I yearn to add a Jimmy Choo handbag to my collection. Sure, it might be the name, but I’m ok with that. At the same time there is no denying the fabulous attention to detail, amazing material and eclectic variety of shapes. Maybe the Jimmy Choo Alex Leather bag will be my first? Originally sold for $2,175, you can now buy it at 30% off for $1,522.

As Megs also mentioned, she and I love clutches. So, it should come as no surprise that I found a fabulous clutch to gush about. The VBH Ostrich Leather Clutch is breathtaking. Yes, yellow is a bold color, but I feel it is one that can be worn well into the fall and perhaps even during the bitter cold winter months. And now that I think about it, I don’t have many exotic handbags (if any) to choose from. So, if I bought this handbag, I would be gaining an exotic clutch to my collection – delightful! If you feel the same way, buy for the discounted price of $1,295.

Sometimes what I consider to be bold colors or patterns strike the wrong chord with me. Yet, when I saw the Marni Slouchy Fabric Tote, I stopped and thought I might actually want it. I guess it is the overall “funky” vibe I get from it that really grabbed my interest. To me, there are several uses for the bag. Sure, it would be a great day time bag, but there is no reason it couldn’t be taken out to a casual dinner or on a date. Plus (said with great excitement), it has a pink drawstring fastening at the top. I love that Marni tied in a girlie color with all the earth tones. And you know what else? It looks like the bag is pretty sturdy, one that could be used for quite a while. I love getting plenty of use out of my handbags. The tote was $507, but you can buy it for just $354.90.

The color red always catches my eye. In the past, I’ve shied away from wearing red. With my fair Irish skin, sometimes just a glass or two of wine gives me rosy cheeks which seem all the rosier while wearing red. Yet, as I get older, I find ways to incorporate red into my attire. A great way to do this could be by sporting the Bottega Veneta Oversized Intrecciato Tote. In my opinion, the bag simply works. It looks classy, fashionable and unique. Sure, you can’t always tell from an image, but I had to read the details about the bag to realize the material was patent leather. I also love the brass accents and suede lining; how could you not? And think about it, this bag really could be used year-round. My credit card might not thank me, but I’m at least sure to get a compliment or two! Purchase this tote for $2,010.

Of course I am going to leave you with just one more clutch. But this time, it looks to be a evening specific kind of clutch. As soon as I saw the Matthew Williamson Atomic Structured Clutch, I found myself wanting to head out for a night on the town. Doesn’t this clutch scream “Girl’s Night Out”? If not, it at least screams “fun”. I could definitely see myself putting on a great pair of jeans, amazing yet simple top, one of my highest pairs of heels and then grabbing this clutch as I run out the door to meet up with some friends. You know that outfit you have in your closet which has nothing but great memories? Well, I think this clutch could bring the same kind of feeling. You can add this to your night on the town repertoire for $903.

There have been some problems with that Jimmy Choo bag and the metal hardware which goes around the outside. Personally, I love the style and am a Choo girl through and through…but it would make me crazy to pay over $1000. for a bag and have problems with it!

  • I hate to hear that there are problems with the Jimmy Choo bag, but I would rather know before I bought it than after! Either way, it *looks* gorgeous.

I have the Alex in black suede (also purchased on clearance from NAP last fall) and I love it. No problems with it, except maybe it’s a wee bit heavy. It does have a lot “going on” but I find that it’s fun to carry and comfortable on my arm. But I will concede I was glad to get it on markdown :)

I have to admit, I had the Marni tote in my cart several times. I decided to go with the Jalda Stingray clutch instead, but I do love this bag. I’m not sure why, but to me it just cries out “fun times”!
