Mulberry for Target

One of the most highly anticipated handbag collaborations for Target was their partnership with Mulberry. Once it was first announced, every fashionista was anxiously awaiting a peek at the line. Luckily, Gilt Groupe partnered with Mulberry to sell some of the items before they hit Target stores. The bags sold out in a matter of minutes. The look is very reminiscent of the Mulberry bags we know and love with a price tag that almost everyone can attain. The bags will hit Target stores nationwide in October. i’m not impressed. i thought they weren’t going to use cheap vinyls and whatnot? i was expecting some nice canvas versions or something, more muted at least. the denim is tacky to me like that and the black is blah. and gold hardware? and what’s with that heart charm??

  I couldn’t agree more with what you said. I too was not impressed at all when I saw these on Gilt. They look cheap. Or rather, they just look like bad fake Mulberry bags. But then again, for those prices that would be expected…

  you know what you must not know the meaning of fashion and you are very picky…its how you wear the bag not how the bag wears you which in this case you don’t know how to wear it

I can’t wait for them to hit stores, I was on Gilt when they went onsale, and the black satchels were gone in seconds. I hope there are more colors available when it hits stores. Or at least a black version of the big denim satchel.

the black one is acceptable but taking off the heart charm is a must.

the combination of the patent leather and heart charm look like something betsey johnson would have..

i just hope they dont make an Alexa for target or i’ll be heart broken..

I was one of the fortunate customers to purchase the Mulberry for Target Denim Satchel. The bag is beautiful but unfortunately too small for my frame.

For any of you that wishes to purchase the 1 I bought b4 it hits stores and the target site, I will be selling it on eBay.

I can’t believe Mulberry would produce cheap rip-offs of their well-known styles. These bags look like, well, typical Target fakes. It’s rather embarrassing, really.

The bags look cute! I do own real leather designer bags but designer collaboration always interests me, especially with stores that have wide range of customer like Target. I’ll be sure to check it out when they arrive.

These aren’t bad..Much better than most of the designer collabrations I’ve seen. At least they are wearable! And I agree, I might buy a black denim satchel, depending how they look IRL.

For those of you, complaining about the quality of materials, Im not quite sure what you were expecting. This is Target we are talking about, a low price point means cheap materials. The point of a designer collaboration is to allow people that do not have the funds for the originals to purchase a small piece of a designer name. The people who can’t afford designer bags usually end up buying black market knock offs or the commercial version (high street brands stealing other designs). A smart company like Mulberry caters to everyone by making their own knock offs. I think this collaboration is perfect, it’s clearly mulberry designs with materials reminiscent of the quality ones. As for the heart key chains, I hate them but they appeal to a younger market which is a large demographic for Target. If you are an adult buying this bag then use your smarts and take it off.

I hate that it looks so much like my wonderful Bayswater but I think it’s great for the price. I don’t think I will buy one but now people will know who my bag is by.

I am not complaining bc the material looks cheap (what do you expect for this price?) but these bags are so boring and unoriginal. If the Mulberry name is not attached as “designers” no one would buy them. Plus the heart tag looks like a rip off of Luella Bartlett bags.

That’s exactly what I thought when I saw the hearts: Luella. Generally I’m in favor of the Target collaborations. I still have the bright yellow canvas hobo I got when Luella did her Target collection. But it did not resemble any of her existing designs. Since I already have a real Bayswater, I’m going to pass to these.

The gilt.com descriptions said these were made of patent leather (which surprised me for sure). Am I mistaken? Can anyone confirm?

I’m a little sad Mulberry have done this actually. Imo, it cheapens the brand somewhat – although that said, with some of their quality issues of late they’re doing a pretty good job of that themselves. Oh for the old days of ‘Made in England’ Darwin leather and classic designs!

I need to see the rest of the collection to decide if I like it or not right now its a toss up. I really hope they use some of their signature looks (old weathered look. Otherwise its OK,I guess????

For the price, I think this is a perfectly acceptable way to get mulberry charm and style. Yes it might “look” cheaper and not be as high quality then the traditional handbags they make, but you get what you pay for. Not eveyone can afford bags with pricetags of over 1,000 pounds/dollars

I like the bags, and I can’t wait to see them in person. In all honesty, I think that I like these better. Since I love animal print, the hot pink one is appealing to me.
Denim seems to be very popular this year with the whole total denim looks so that one is pretty cute.
I don’t know why anyone thinks that designing for TopShop, Target, or H&M cheapens a brand. It’s basicallly all about the money. Mulberry will more than likely make more money off of these bags than their luxury brand because more people will purchase from Target than SAKS. I still have my Botkier from Target bag (in gray), and I wore it for a solid month. I still have it and has lasted this whole time (about 2-3 years).
What I find cheap looking is the Hollywood Intuition line.
Unfortunately, we all can’t afford to shop luxury.

I am a single mother of 3 very beautiful girls, I’m not saying this because I’m their mother either. My 18yr old is a pagent winner, my 15 is a model for Tom Ford, my 13yr old is doing pagents this years as a little sister. They all love fashion, I didn’t raise them to be paris hiltons by any means. I raised them to be greatful. I’m hoping I can get 3 of the cross body bags. I am a parralegal, but I am also a mom that has. Its unusual. But also I’m a migraine sufferer, I found out I had “HemicraniumContinuia”…..which means half of my head hurts all the time, 24 hrs a day. Went to a Nero. Appt. And found out I have a tumor on my ocular nerve. I had to stop working, so much for my inner vanity and outter fashionista. Back to the point, I’m not rich but I am so proud of my girls. They all would love to get a designer purse for christmas. Is there any of the “Mulberry” for Target bags left? I will buy any of them but I’m really wanting to get a “Alexa, a quilted denim and patent cross body bag.” I will take anything, I was to sick to get out of the bed to drive 98 miles to my closest Target store. So now I’m scrambling to see if there’s anything left and can I order them online still? If their is any girls the deserve to feel “fancy” its my girls that bring me my medicine in bed that they know is going to make me sicker than I was when they gave it to me. I don’t get a lot of “designer things like before, but they all remember when I got my first louie! I was so proud of my reward for a longtime in college and my first “Postconviction” won! So they inherited that thing for purses. A reward for being my kids, LOL they bag they can carry their issues to the therapist in when they get older. My mother always told me every child has somekind of cross to bare, if not they will make their own. mulberry is such a great brand with regards to design and quality.it surprised me that they came up with these sad looking bayswater-like and lily-like bags with their collaboration with target.i wanted to get one just to force the issue and be able to have purchased a mulberry for fifty bucks,but i’m glad they sold out and i never had a chance because looking back now that wouldve been a waste of fifty bucks.(ipad)

I love the look of these bags. They have a very neat appearance. The patent black ones look fresh and clean. The heart charms are simply adorable. Love this look. Cannot get this where I live (The Caribbean) so may have to buy it online.
