I’m not going to lie, I could look at ShopBop all day. They have endless amounts of absolutely gorgeous…stuff. They have both super-recognizable (Marc by Marc Jacobs) and indie (Vena Cava) designers, and items that are both wardrobe staples and extremely special pieces. And honey, when they have a sale, they HAVE A SALE.
As many on the forum have noted, they’ve recently taken lots of new markdowns, and for someone that doesn’t spend such copious amounts of time on their site as I do, wading through the enormous number of offerings must be kind of overwhelming. Fear not, fair shopper – Amanda is here to break down their best offerings, both handbags and (gasp) other fashionable items.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Cotton Pique Jacket |
was $498 now $348
This black cotton jacket is in a classic, wearable shape with absolutely adorable white piping around the collar, pockets, and seams. A great fall jacket (or, for those of us that live in a world with no real winter, a great jacket for the 3 months of the year that you can’t wear flip flops).
Loeffler Randall Naomi D Ring Tote |
was $685 now $479
The handbag section of this sale almost always clears out faster than any of the others (the same handbag can fit any woman. The same Rachel Pally dress? Not so much), so pickings seem kind of slim (when oh WHEN will Michael Kors stop making fringey, metallic bags with whipstitching?). There are still a few standouts available, though, and this simple, chic Loeffler Randall tote is my favorite. The leather looks like I’d want to pet it, and the rouching under the handle attachment adds just enough visual interest to make the bag special.
Thea Grant Colby Ct. Charm Necklace |
was $194 now $135
I’m normally not much for charms, but there is something very understated and elegant about this charm necklace. It consists of a flower, fan, and Roman coin, all in proportion to each other and not so large that they scream out to be looked at by all from their home on your chest. The piece is full of personality and adds a slightly bohemian vibe without anyone wondering who it is that stinks of patchouli.
J Brand Kat Wide Leg Jean in cream |
was $218 now $152
So I know not everyone is going to be with me on this one, but I love the look of a slim, simple, dark top (particularly a navy button-down) tucked in to super light wide-leg pants. It’s a playful reversal of the classic white shirt/black pants combo and looks thoroughly chic and modern (and trust me, white pants are not nearly as hard to wear as one would think, particularly in a forgiving wide leg). For those that like the silhouette, the indigo version of this pant is also on sale for the low low price of $65. Stock up for fall!
Alice + Olivia Circle Pleat Halter Dress |
was $367 now $257
I need one of you skinny girls out there in the blogosphere to buy this dress and wear it on my behalf. My ta-tas just would NOT get along with this shape, but it’s so completely retro and adorable that someone out there needs to rescue it from the sale section, put on some Louboutin Very Prives, and take that dress out for dinner. Or something. ANYTHING. It needs to be worn. I beg of you.
This is only a tiny sampling of the deals to be had, but perhaps it’s a good jumping off point to start the endless sifting for your next great score. Happy shopping!
