I’ve become a huge fan of Lockheart bags over the past few years and it’s mostly due to the fact that these bags are unlike most others on the market. The bags are highly unique and boast amazing attention to detail.
There are a number of things that never cease to spark a hint of curiosity within me. PurseBlog posts fall into this category. As I sipped on my coffee this morning and read Amanda’s post on the Prada Saffiano Print Tote, something she said really resonated with me. She mentioned how some bags don’t seem to make sense until you see them in person. I couldn’t agree with her more. So, I drifted off a bit and began thinking of so many bags that I wouldn’t give a second look to online but can barely keep my hands off in person.
I’ve been noticing bucket bags everywhere I look lately. Well, mostly when perusing online, but seriously, they are everywhere. It seems as though these bags are quite the rage for the spring. I was slow to warm to this trend but I am starting to appreciate them more and more as time passes.
These bags are small but tend to pack quite a punch. When done and worn properly, a small bag like this is the perfect accessory and a quick way to glam up your outfit. (more…)
This is awesome. Ok, well this bag is awesome for several reasons, but one of them has to do with the name of the bag. As all of you handbag lovers out there know, many designers use people’s names in the names of certain handbags. Designers we’ve talked to say they draw inspiration from people with those names as well as the sheer thought of what someone with a given name embodies.
Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to talk to Mr. Jacobs about his inspiration behind this particular creation of his, but I have to say, Kelsey is a perfect name. You have to understand, I say this because I have a friend named Kelsey and frankly, this bag is sooooooo her! (more…)
I wish I wasn’t so scared of white handbags. Ok, well, I am not scared of them per say, but I am terrified about how quickly they can become dirty. Even a little more terrifying than a white handbag – a white clutch. With a white clutch, as you know, you have to carry it in your hand. This has me concerned. I am not some filthy person, but I am a little clumsy. I can see myself forgetting that I just finished reading the newspaper (yes, I still read real newspapers) reach for the white clutch and voila – filth. However, if I can get past my fear, this particular Jimmy Choo clutch would have to be mine. (more…)
Ummmm. This, my friends, is the very first time I have been completely confused with a Bottega Veneta Knot Clutch. I have to admit, I feel completely, 100% without a doubt, in love with knot clutches when they first and continued to appear. The design of these clutches wasn’t completely unique and in fact the designs themselves kept repeating one another over and over again. However, I appreciated every aspect each one had to give: the leather, the detailing, the simplicity, the eccentric-ness (is that even a word?). And then, and then I came across this version and I am not really sure. (more…)
Matt & Nat is another handbag company that has come a long way. When I was first introduced to Matt & Nat bags I have to say, the jury was out. Sure, there were elements of the bags that I liked, but they also seemed a bit boring to me. Ladies and gents, that is no longer the case.
Recent bags from this design team have really impressed me. The Matt & Nat Yacht Studded Bag is rather fabulous, don’t you think? (more…)
I have yet to add a bucket bag to my handbag collection. You have to understand something about me. I love handbags, but, I tend not to splurge very often. If you ask Megs or even Vlad, they will both agree. I stare at things I think about buying and make virtual pros and cons lists. This being said, I’ve never been able to justify the purchase of a bucket bag because I can’t really imagine where I would carry it. That is where I need you to weigh in. (more…)
It’s been a little while since I reviewed a L.A.M.B. handbag. It’s not done on purpose. In all reality I find myself staring at L.A.M.B. bags on a daily basis. I love watching this brand evolve. The bags aren’t just loud and obnoxious, they are actually wearable.
While the bags are wearable, they still make a very distinct statement. For the most part, you should know that you won’t be carrying a boring black bag. Even when the bag is a bit low key in the L.A.M.B. design world, it still packs quite a punch. (more…)
Each time I see designer name, Lauren Merkin, I think – clutches. I have become so accustom to checking out Lauren Merkin clutches that I almost forget that she designs other handbags too. So, each time I come across something other than a clutch of hers, I am pretty pleased. I’ve been a fan of her clutches for quite some time now, so by default I expect something great from her other bags as well. Luckily, she rarely disappoints me. (more…)
As I was checking my email this morning I came across an invite to my friend’s bachelorette party this summer. I love celebrating the step into marriage because, well, I guess you could say I have a tendency to be a hopeless romantic. As I continued to look at the invitation, one more thing jumped out at me – the party is going to be in NYC! So, I get to be a part of a great celebration AND it is going to be in a fabulous city… awesome!
My guess is that you know where my thought process went next – I need a new handbag for this occasion. (more…)
One of the things I really love about working on PurseBlog Savvy is that I get a chance to look at bags that are actually reasonably priced. In addition to this, I come across brands that I’m not familiar with. We are all familiar with brands like Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton or Chanel, but until I had the chance to work on this site, I had never heard of a brand like IRO. Now that I have, I am pretty happy. Granted, I don’t own one of these bags but if I were to, this one might be an option. (more…)
