I am sure some of you might actually read this after Memorial Day Weekend. There are so many of us who love to tag an extra vacation day onto a 3-day weekend making it that much sweeter.
Every handbag lover out there has a different taste. While this means so many of us can be on complete opposite ends of the interest spectrum, it means that designers are pushed to create a plethora of designs for us. So, no matter what you like, we all win!
And as someone who spends more hours than most staring and evaluating handbags, I can appreciate the quality of a bag even if I would never be caught dead carrying it myself. However, there are times, when for the life of me, I cannot decide if I like a bag or not. This Versace bag fits that category perfectly. (more…)
Ok, so if you are reading this, chances are you do a lot of reading online. I certainly do. However, I am still one of those people who absolutely loves to curl up on the couch with a cup of coffee (or glass of wine, depending on the time of day) and pick up a magazine or newspaper to read. There is something almost therapeutic about flipping pages, sipping on my drink and taking everything in. It can be a little more slow paced than reading online which at times is nice.
So, just the other day, while I was doing just this, I came across some beautiful tribal inspired bikinis. I loved the colors and patterns. The look was so different from what you normally see on any given beach. Needless to say, I was a bit inspired. No sooner did I get over this than I came across this brightly colored cosmetic bag. (more…)
There are some bags out there that I see and instantly know I must have. The Coach Kristin Leather Hobo is one of these bags. Before I go much further, you all have probably picked up on how Amanda and I want to try and cover more Coach bags. Frankly, these bags are great and there is no reason not to cover them more. This all started back with Amanda’s review of the Coach Kristin Large Hobo which so many of you fell in love with. So, when I came across the larger bag in the Kristin line, I knew I had to cover it as well. (more…)
I feel like there is a good chance the handbag Gods are reaching out to me in a very strong way today. You see, today, every single bag that has caught my eye thus far is a crossbody bag. Granted the sizes of these bags are all different, but crossbody bags they are.
As I’ve said multiple times during this seasons crossbody craze, I don’t have one. I know I should and I know I want one, but I just haven’t taken the plunge. While crossbody bags are all the rage, I think I need a bigger crossbody rather than a mini like this Cole Haan bag. Yes, that is a personal preference and it’s too bad, because this one is actually relatively cute. (more…)
Honestly, I find myself forgetting about some handbag lines from time to time. DKNY is one of them. I guess I think of the “big brands” more often. But, I do promise I’ll try to do better. And if DKNY continues to churn out bags like this one, I would most likely be inclined to remember a bit easier.
Sure, there really isn’t anything *that* special going on with the DKNY Chain Double Flap Crossbody Bag, however, there is something about it that I really like. Come to think of it, it has been a while since I’ve found myself not really being able to put my finger on why I like a given bag so much. I welcome the challenge. (more…)
It is absolutely no secret that I am a huge Linea Pelle fan. I love their bags, belts and accessories. The great thing about this brand is that nothing is bogged down with too much hardware, frills, or random designs – just because. This brand sticks to what it is good at and that is one of the main reasons it is so successful. Each item is made of fabulous leather that seriously gets better the more you use it. I dare you to show me a Linea Pelle bag that doesn’t age gracefully.
All of this being said, it doesn’t mean that I don’t yearn to expand how many Linea Pelle bags and accessories I have in my closet. In fact, I think that is something I need to do ASAP. Perhaps this Linea Pelle Dylan Leather Messenger Bag is where I might start. (more…)
For the most part, I’ve always considered Bottega Veneta to be a classic, iconic brand. The intrecciato weaving technique is one that can be spotted from across the room or even across a busy street. Personally, it is the classic element of the brand that I love and have come to always expect.
Now, just because there are certain things I expect from a brand like Bottega Veneta does not mean that I cannot appreciate when they think and design a little bit out of the box. Certainly, in order for the design to work, what has *made* the brand what it is needs to be upheld and visible at some point. Thankfully, in this instance, BV tried something a little different and it worked. (more…)
As I was catching up on some news (as well as daily celeb gossip), I came across a tidbit of information that I *HAD* to share with you all. Lindsay Lohan is planning on breaking into the handbag world. And no, I am not talking about her discussing the various expensive handbags she owns. Instead, I am talking about Lindsay designing handbags of her own.
If you are anything like me, you need to reflect on this a little bit. (more…)
So, there is a good chance you know that we do our best *not* to replicate handbag coverage here. There are so many handbags out there that we become busy trying to cover a wide variety of our favorites (and sometimes not so favorites), meaning we don’t really find a need to revisit a given design. However, every now and again there is a bag that has already been reviewed by myself or another member of the PurseBlog team that deserves a revisit.
All of this being said, the Olivia Harris Zip Pocket Leather Clutch is a handbag completely deserving of the revisit. Amanda covered this bag back this past fall and while I liked it, I completely appreciate this version oh so much more. (more…)
Yes, you all know the love I have for clutches. Frankly, I cannot have enough clutches in my collection. They all just seem to serve such an amazing purpose. While I love my clutches, with the warm Spring and Summer months upon us, I began to wonder: do most people put away their dark colored clutches and opt for brightly colored ones – OR – are the darker clutches used all year long, no matter what?
Something to ponder, huh?
Well, no matter what side of the handbag fence you are on here, there is no denying how gorgeous this brightly colored Yves Saint Laurent Y Clutch is. And if I had several clutches colored like this, there is a good chance I’d put my darker colored clutches away until the Fall and Winter. (more…)
You may have noticed that I was a little MIA (missing in action) last week. I spent most of the week driving from the West Coast to the East Coast. For those of you who have never experience a cross-country drive, it was a long one. My brother flew out to California and did the drive with me, which made it much more exciting. But leading up to the drive itself, I did a complete top to bottom cleaning of my apartment which included assessing all of my belongings. So as you can imagine I got caught up on my handbag collection.
While going through all of my bags, I was once again reminded about my lack of cross-body bags or even good/new shoulder bags. I do have several shoulder bags, but I think it is time for me to diversify my collection a bit. No reason not to, right? (more…)
