See, after I wrote about the tote version yesterday, I did come across the smaller version, but I simply did not have the strength to invest any more time in a slashed handbag. I actually put the bag completely out of my mind until today when I stumbled across it again. At that point, I had found the strength to take a closer look.

With this closer look, I discovered that I do in fact like the ROMYGOLD Biker Slash Micro Mini Bag. More specifically, I really enjoy the red pebbled leather version of this mini cross-body bag. The “slashing” detailing actually gives this small bag quite a bit of character and since it is on a small bag, it’s not too overwhelming. In fact, the detailing results in a perfectly fun bag, especially for the Summer months. It does come across as a very young bag, but with the right outfit, there is nothing wrong with it at all. But today, when I came across this beyond fabulous Jimmy Choo clutch I thought of so many different people who would look beyond fabulous with this clutch in their hand. In fact, I can see some of my friends who tend to go for an edgy look carry this as often as my friends who are a bit more feminine. I love when a bag can do that!

I think the best way to describe this clutch is by quoting a real life stylist, Rachel Zoe, when she sees something she likes: I DIE! This clutch is nothing short of edgy, chic and fabulous.

Yes, the Jimmy Choo Metallic Perforated Nappa Leather Clutch is very distinct and the hardware is in your face, but I don’t see anything wrong with it at all. I love the buckle detailing and removable chain shoulder strap. The leather is textured and works with the buckle detailing and shoulder strap nicely. While I usually don’t use shoulder straps with my clutches, this is an instance in where I just might. Shocker, right?! And I can’t help but notice how this bag could be carried all year around – always a plus in my book. Buy through Nordstrom for $1150.

For a lot of you, studs are totally a detail of the past. You are ready for something new. However, before you dismiss this bag due to the use of studs, give it a chance. The Linea Pelle Pyramid-Studded Leather Mini Bag is in fact a fabulous bag with just a hint of glam which is perfect for so many occasions and seasons. Brown leather with gold-toned pyramid studs work perfectly with one another. This is a great bag which will quickly become a staple in your wardrobe. I’m thinking about getting my hands on it ASAP. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $225.

The thing about Alexander Wang handbags is that they are unique – very unique. Yes, you need to have a bit of an open mind to fully appreciate these bags, but when you are able to open your mind, you might find yourself lusting after a bag that makes quite a statement.

In fact, this Alexander Wang Willow Top-Frame Messenger is just what I am talking about. I’ve always envisioned a messenger bag to have a particular shape and style. Sure, there are slight variations, but all in all, you know what I am saying. However, this messenger is quite different. First of all, it seems to be taller than it is wide. Not what you would normally expect, right? The black pebble leather bag is opened with a hinged metal frame and is closed and secured with a leather-and-loop strap. There is a single top handle (2″ drop) as well as detachable leather and chain shoulder strap (20½” drop). This is the kind of bag that will bring an entire new look and feel to almost any outfit. I appreciate the direction Mr. Wang has gone with this bag, do you? Buy through Saks for $925.

It looks like someone’s small child took a pair of scissors and went to town.

There is a small chance I would carry the ROMYGOLD Biker Slash Tote to the beach or perhaps some kind of art festival, but other than that, I don’t see any other use for it at all. I first saw the white leather version and thought perhaps the white version simply didn’t appeal to me. Then I saw the black leather version and had the same sentiment. The folks over at Saks describe this bag as “chic” but I would have to completely disagree. Unfortunately there is nothing chic about this bag. Instead, it looks sloppy, uninspired and frankly, a bit ugly. The thing is, if the bag was a little smaller, I might be able to appreciate it a little more. If you think I’m off my rocker, buy through Saks for $495.

To be honest, at first glance, I thought this bag had some kind of metallic element going on. Upon further investigation, I realized that while there is some kind of weaving going on, there is absolutely no metallic involved. Perhaps I glanced at the bag too quickly or perhaps I have metallic on the brain, so I am not exactly sure why I thought I saw metallic. Either way, there is something about this bag that screams out, “carry me”.

No, the Cleobella Brixie Weave Bag isn’t something you’d want to grab for a night out on the town, but I’d definitely recommend it for day-to-day activities or even as a weekend away tote. The wrinkled leather has woven ikat banding along the front and back of the bag. Ikat detailing is something we’ve become accustom to seeing on Cleobella bags; it’s kind of expected. The double rolled handles (9″ drop) look sturdy but not so bulky that they would dig into your arm or shoulder too much. In case you opt to use this in a manner that a shoulder strap (24″ drop) is needed, don’t worry, there is one available. Buy through Shopbop for $465.

Before I was a blogger, I was a part of the corporate world (well sort of). I remember living in DC, riding the metro (DC’s version of the subway) to work and noticing all of the bags both men and women carried to work. I didn’t have anything too fancy and never really went out of my way to find something fancy. However, I literally came to a complete stop when I came across this Miu Miu Deerskin Leather Tote – it is beyond fabulous.

Now, if you don’t find yourself waking up everyday and schlepping to an office, fear not, this bag can come in handy for several other occasions. More than anything, this bag exudes luxury. Black deerskin leather is adorned with gold-tone hardware. There is a fold-over flap at the front of the bag, twist-lock fastening and stud and buckle embellishments along the sides. Open this fabulous bag and you will find taupe suede lining. This bag is elegant, versatile and timeless. In typical Miu-Miu fashion you will have to shell out a pretty penny for it, but it is worth it. I don’t know about you, but I’m in love. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1650.

The unfortunate part is that because of this shoulder strap, I’m having a hard time appreciating the otherwise lovely tote. Isn’t it sad how one misplaced detail on a handbag can completely ruin the overall look and feel? Ok. I realize I need to move on, so I am going to try.

As I said, if you can try to ignore the hideous shoulder strap, you will see a pretty nice tote in front of you. Washed black lambskin leather, brass hardware and plenty of interior pockets round out a nice bag. This is exactly the kind of tote I’d reach for when I have a day of running errands ahead of me. Now, if I could just get over the shoulder strap. Sigh. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $425.

So, I was a little surprised to see this Tod’s bag with so much fringe. Aren’t you? No matter what you think about fringe, you have to admit, this bag is rather exquisite in its own way.

There have been so many fringe bags we’ve covered in the past that seemed to be perfect for a younger crowd. However, one of the first things I noticed about the Tod’s G-Bag Frange Media is that it clearly appeals to a wide age range, which I am always a fan of. The tiered fringe adds just the right amount of movement to the bag without it looking a complete mess. I could carry this during the day as easily as I could to dinner or for a night out with friends. How can you miss the color? I know Summer is coming up next but this bag would be beyond perfect for Fall! This is the kind of bag that is a perfect combination of formal and fun. Sure, that might sound a bit like an oxymoron, but it is true. And if you are as big of a fan of this bag as I am, you better order it now – it’s already on back order!
