It was one of those weekends where Mother Nature dished out absolutely gorgeous weather and I stayed inside mostly in bed feeling under the weather. I constantly checked Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to see how everyone else was enjoying their weekend and felt a little sorry for myself. This is when I decided to turn my sick weekend into a tropical staycation.

I popped into my closet and pulled out my coveted Celine Nano in Citron and went into the kitchen and blended up a fresh piña colada. This combo photographed so incredibly well, and if I tried really hard, I imagined being elsewhere (and feeling better).

The Celine obsession has not died down; in fact, it continues growing. The Luggage Nano is the latest must-have because of its now-recognizable style, which combined with the smaller size makes it easy to sling crossbody and carry it nonstop. Many went gaga for the hot pink Nano for Spring 2012, but I decided the Citron was the color that would work for me. Like all my other Celine bags, I bought this bag from Kirna Zabete.

Lana Del Rey’s path to stardom may have been carefully planned, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it happened. Truth be told, I love her music. I have it on in the background while I work often and I totally dig it, a fact which I’m not even going to deny. Mulberry realized Lana Del Rey is a new “it” girl, and now she has an eponymous bag to prove it.

We covered this bag when it was first seen on Lana and announced by Mulberry. The bag dropped today on Net-A-Porter and I believe you should take another look at the Mulberry Del Rey bag. Mulberry has designed quite a few hits, including its much-lauded Bayswater and Alexa. If you’ll remember, the Mulberry Alexa was named after Brit star Alexa Chung and the bag itself became highly sought-after.

The design is simple like most Mulberry designs. Honestly, there isn’t much to report on. The tote shape of the bag has an East/West finish and there are double top handles. The leather on all Mulberry bags is extremely thick, which tends to make the bags both durable and heavy. This is why I always love optional shoulder straps, especially from bags known to be on the heavy side.

I was and still am a major fan of the Alexa, and I’m not sure the Del Rey will be able to fill its metaphorical It-Bag shoes. Do you think it will? Either way, if you want this bag, you better hurry because it will certainly sell out quickly. Buy via Net-A-Porter for $1,250.

Sometimes I spend hours getting lost on the PurseForum. We started the forum in 2005 to have a community where handbag lovers around the world could share everything and anything bag-related. Over the past seven years, the forum has transformed into much more, but I still find myself drawn to reveal threads to see what other members are buying.

A reveal thread recently posted in the Chanel forum immediately stopped me in my tracks. A few months ago, Amanda brought you news of the blinged out Chanel bags for the Bellagio re-opening, and it seems as though one of our members tracked down one of those rare beauties and scooped it up.

On the forum, you can read pursebop‘s entire story about how she tracked down what she deemed the Chanel Sparkle Beauty Bag. The bag goes for a hefty $10,000 and very few were made available for customers; it was a limited edition, after all. Even though I didn’t get to spend Mother’s Day itself with my mom, I had the chance to see her for the entire week before and it was quite the treat. We celebrated early, and I had it in my mind that my mom needed a new handbag that would work with her personal style and that she would be able to carry it for years to come.

My mom and I took a drive down to my favorite mall, Bal Harbour Shops in North Miami Beach, to see what the Hermes store had in stock. There were no Birkins or Kellys on the shelves, but that’s not what we were there for. I know my mom’s style.

Just as we walked in I saw a grey Hermes Evelyne behind the glass and I saw the bag catch my mom’s eye as well. I told her, “This is the bag you should get from Hermes!”. She immediately knew it was her style as well, refined yet casual and everyday wearable. The SA pulled the bag out and right as my mom put it on, we knew it was a perfect fit.

While my mom had no idea this was my and Vlad’s idea for her Mother’s Day gift, she was thrilled to add a new bag to her collection. My style and my mom’s style are similar, we love our jeans and cute tops. My mom always goes for bags that are easy to get in and out of and also are not super heavy. The Hermes Evelyne fits the bill as its sporty adjustable crossbody strap allows the bag to be carried over the shoulder or crossbody and the snap closure makes it easy to get in and out of the main compartment. There is an outside slit pocket for even quicker access as well.

Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing mom and all the other mom’s out there!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know by now that I have a major sweet tooth. I have dessert or some sort of sweet treat at least once a day and I truly don’t discriminate. I love chocolate, ice cream, tarts, fruits, cheeses, and any type of dessert put in front of me. I discovered macarons after moving to NYC; they’re quite the dessert favorite in these parts, and they have been added to my sweet tooth repertoire.

Judith Leiber must love macarons as much as I do, because she added a Macaron Pillbox to her eclectic crystal covered collection.

Like the majority of other Judith Leiber items, this pillbox is fully beaded with Austrian crystals in a choice of fuchsia or silk (green). There is a push-lock closure for the body of the case, which measures 6″H x 5″D. No one likes having to carry pills around with them, whether it be Advil or a prescription. I always have Benadryl on me because of my intense allergies, and I’d much prefer carrying around a chic blinged out pillbox any day. Price is $495 via Neiman Marcus.

We just can’t get rid of the Kardashians, can we? The family just signed a three year extension to continue filming their widely loved (and perhaps just as widely hated) reality series Keeping Up with the Kardashians. I have problems with much of what the family does, but at the same time, I know that I don’t know the full story, not to mention that I’m more than a little envious of their bag kollection (yes, I plan to randomly replace the letter “c” with “k” in this post).

Kim disappeared from the limelight for a hot minute after her marriage fell apart, and now she’s back full force being seen everywhere with new beau Kanye West. Who knows about their relationship, what I have paid attention to is the bags the family has been karrying while they’ve been visiting New York recently.

More than anything, though, I wonder how the classic and timeless brand Bottega Veneta feels about the Kardashians being seen with their Knot Clutch non-stop this past week.

Both Kim and Kourtney karried black Bottega Veneta Knot Clutches to an event for E! this past week in NYC. The sisters showed up together with different looks but identical clutches. I am a major fan of the Knot Klutch and I think it finishes off an evening look ideally. It seems the Kardashians agree, as I have seen Kris karrying it this past week as well.
