We’ve talked previously about menswear’s recent, vibrant facelift, especially when it comes to the accessory market’s various printed and patterned bags. Designers have gone beyond the traditional stripes and plaids that are often associated with menswear, and these new choices indicate an edgier and more androgynous approach.
Spring has sprung, and with that, our bags are getting a little brighter and a little lighter as the weeks go by. For this edition of Bag Deals, we found lots of crossbodies and mini bags, as well as a beach tote to help you kickstart (or continue your ever-growing) spring bag collection.
Technically, this may not be a Perfect Pair, but I just couldn’t help myself. I was in the accessories zone. We have a lot of great discussions happening on TalkShoes this week! First, we chose our Shoe of the Week and rounded up the best five best metallic flats under $500. We also spotted Scarlett Johansson in a fabulous pair of lace Louboutins attending the premier of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
On TalkShoes this week, we styled the covetable Jil Sander Neon Sandals for our Outfit of the Week, and on the other end of the spectrum, these Manolo Blahnik Mules are the perfect mule for the ultra lavish! In celeb shoe news, we saw Selma Blair wearing the first pair of Birkenstocks we’ve seen out and about this season.
Several years ago, The Row put backpacks back on our handbag radar with the buzzworthy $34,000 Alligator Backpack, and ever since, backpacks have been popping up all over the fashion industry. I didn’t go crazy for The Row’s backpack, or any backpack after that – as bags, they simply remind me of my awkward middle school wardrobe.
Over on TalkShoes we went through our Instagram to see all of your Manolo themed shoestagrams. We rounded up our top favorites, and let’s just say we were swooning! Alessandra Ambrosio was spotted wearing a covetable pair of Valentino pumps and we looked at the shoes from Nicolas Ghesquière’s first collection for Louis Vuitton.
