Welcome to the Roundup for December 20. We wanted to start the week off with something a little different, so we spent some time over in General Discussion to see what members were talking about. Sometimes on our busy fashion forum it’s nice to spend some time chatting about friends, family, and even the random things that make up our busy and varied lives.

As December continues to fly by, we end the week with another PurseForum Roundup full of the best threads and hidden gems that we’ve found on our Forum in the past week. In particular, this week seemed to be full of members revealing their new purchases, which is one of our favorite things to see on the Forum. Let’s jump right in and see what our members have been up to.
Another week has flown by, and of course Friday means the Weekly Roundup of some of our favorite PurseForum conversations. Can you believe that we are a week into December already? As expected, members have been discussing shopping, winter wear, family gatherings and issues, travel, beauty, shoes, and everything in between. Let’s get on with the Roundup of some of this week’s highlights!
Welcome to the PurseForum Weekly Roundup! We’re excited to whisk you into the weekend with our newly customary look back at what’s been going on at the PurseForum this week. We know that the Forum can seem kind of big and overwhelming to newcomers, but there’s so much information, friendship and support to be found within it that we hope these choice tidbits encourage you to venture over and poke around.
It’s here! It’s Black Friday in the United States, the biggest shopping day of the year. Are you out there in the thick of things with the rest of the bargain hunters? Or are you home enjoying Thanksgiving leftovers (and maybe waiting for Cyber Monday)? As much as PurseForum members love to shop, we also love a bargain. The Deals and Steals subforum is always a popular destination for frugal fashion lovers throughout the year, and the Black Friday thread in General Shopping is the perfect primer for the Big Day.
Welcome to the first installment of the PurseForum Weekly Roundup! Watch this spot for our weekly showcase of ongoing conversations selected from across the PurseForum, giving PurseBlog readers a peek into the many, many subforums and topics happening right next door. Believe it or not, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. I am a fan of the day of romance, in spite of the overblown commercialism. A true romantic at heart I adore all things pink, girly, and sweet – but all in good taste of course. And even better if there is an edge to the sweetness! Can you say Lanvin?
Along with his continual throwback to the’60s this spring, Marc by Marc Jacobs again channels color blocking in a clever combination of hues. The “R Special Color block” collection palette reminds me of the circa 1962 Eero Saarinen designed terminal at JFK. Or at least the colors of the very chic flight attendants of that era. Very retro, in a sophisticated kind of way.
The trend toward chain link totes seems like an obvious choice this season. Although totes are somewhat on the practical side of the handbag spectrum, the addition of chains to ordinary totes makes them into something special. These totes featured are far from your generic 9-to-5 envelope tote and are just as adept at toting around loads of stuff during your busy weekdays.
Not only does a new year bring a fresh start, but it reveals an interest in fresher brighter hues as we inch our way towards spring. The recent trend of colorful rainbow hue handbags feels just right, like a breath of fresh air as we say au revoir to 2009. These candy colored bags are decadent treat, satisfying the handbag lover’s craving for wit and whimsy.
