This post is almost a continuous stream of red carpet photos, with exactly two interruptions. (Some celebs didn’t attend film premieres this week, or maybe they were still wearing great shoes while doing other stuff, but that’s allowed.) In quasi-related news, it has recently dawned on me that Lily James and Lily Collins are two different people, and the former is dating one of my celebrity boyfriends, which instantly makes her my celebrity nemesis.
This week, everyone from Jessica Alba to Catherine Zeta-Jones was snapped at the airport, and they were ALL carrying handbags valued in excess of $2K. Hey, it’s awards season, and you can’t let TSA catch you with anything reasonably affordable whilst you’re zipping in from Paris Couture Week or exotic destinations unknown, you know?
Not all designers are as liberal with their celeb freebies as others, and this sometimes makes it hard to assess the true success of any given designer style. On the one hand, we can be sure that the celebs who do carry these bags do so because they genuinely like them, but on the other hand, it’s hard to know how many celebrities even shop for themselves, even when they seem to do little else.
For months, I have labored under the impression that The Nice Guy was a late night hang-out for celebs, and while that’s not entirely untrue (they have a special “late night” menu, an impressive drinks menu, and a exceptional whiskey menu), it may shock you to find that The Nice Guy is actually a restaurant first.
Our photo service runneth over with fantastic handbag (and designer shoe) pics from this year’s Critics’ Choice Awards. (By the way, you guys are checking out our weekly celebrity designer shoe round-ups, yes? They are also penned by yours truly.) The CCAs are a slightly more low-key affair than your Golden Globes or Oscars, and historically, they’ve been bigger on industry cred than Hollywood glamour.
We have quite the variety of celeb footwear to showcase this week. Celebs have recently strapped on everything from highly unseasonal strappy sandals to knee-high boots (yes, that was Hailey Baldwin, how did you know?), and there’s a pleasing surplus of Louboutins here too, of course, because it’s still awards season.
We probably could’ve populated this entire post with celebs who attended Stella McCartney’s Pre-Fall 2016 presentation, but the celebuverse truly delivered this week. Pre-fall shows are just a special bonus, as awards show season will keep us stocked with plenty of pics of Cate Blanchett and other A-list actresses through early February.
