It seems that celebrities have already begun their deep holiday hibernation. The two weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year’s tend to be a no-promo zone for the vast majority of celebrities, though the myriad Star Wars premieres across the globe are giving us a little something to go on this year.
Platform sandals are back, and they are taking off rather quickly, so bear that in mind as you make your post-holiday shoe purchases. Charlotte Olympia has already taken a quick lead on the platform front, and one of her latest styles is a huge hit with celebs this week (as well as with yours truly.) In other news, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is out today, and whether that excites you or not, the movie’s LA premiere has provided us with some of our best shoes of the week; I imagine the subsequent international Star Wars premieres will continue to deliver on both the bag and shoe front.
Do celebs intentionally take advantage of bigger holiday shopping crowds to step out and get some shopping done while feeling normal? I’ve never given much thought to this before, but we’ve seen more celeb snapshots from outside Barneys and inside popular LA shopping hot spots like The Grove this month than we have all year.
It’s winter, so of course the pin-heeled Kurt Geiger Britton pumps are extremely popular with celebs this week. Celebrities go through phases with these shoes, for reasons that aren’t exactly clear. (They’re great, so you’d think we’d see them all the time.) Sure, conditions in NYC aren’t especially icy and treacherous just yet, but I don’t expect celeb shoe choices to be any more reasonable in the coming winter months.
You might not able to guess which bag Cindy Crawford has been carrying for seven years. It’s not Chanel, or Chloé, or any handbag brand that’s repeatedly demonstrated a decade’s worth of staying power, though it is a brand that is legendary in its own way, despite not being especially well-known for its handbags.
