Louis Vuitton launched a new fashion exhibition in LA last Thursday night, and of course, celebs flocked to the event with their very best Louis Vuitton bags in tow. We’ve showcased a few of the more unusual selections from the launch party for you in today’s celeb roundup, alongside the usual mix of celebs carrying bags in airports and outside hotels or TV stations.

Doing these celeb round-ups has really given me a more comprehensive idea of what celebs are carrying on any given week. (Amanda has always been the one tasked with wading through piles of celeb photos to make these selections, bless her.) It means I see almost 20 different bag selections every week instead of just five, which leads me to observations, like the fact that brands like Proenza Schouler and Chloé are more popular right now than you might suspect.

Saint Laurent’s Sac de Jour has quietly-yet-deliberately infiltrated the hearts and minds of celebrities over the past year. It’s not that the bag itself is remarkable; it’s really not, which may be part of the appeal. It’s sort of an anti-“it” bag–classically styled and fairly inconspicuous, with minimal branding.

Apparently, all of the LA celebrities who opted not to make the trek to the Sundance Film Festival or Paris Couture last week decided to go shopping. I suspect there are far fewer crowds (of celebs) to wade through in Beverly Hills when these two events overlap.

If you’re a film buff, you’re probably aware that the Sundance Film Festival is taking place as we speak. If you’re not a film buff, you’re probably vaguely aware of Sundance because it’s the one week of the year when all of your favorite celebs are randomly photographed wearing parkas and standing next to scenic, snowy mountain vistas.

Our celeb roundups are always full of ridiculously good looking people, but this week, we’ve got a full roster of a certain type of particularly enviable female celeb. You know the type: tall, slender, great legs, and even better jawlines. They’re the kind of women who get tapped to be the face of a new perfume, or more likely, the new face of a classic perfume that’s been around for ages.

The celebiverse is much more nuanced than you’d imagine, if you only followed along with People and Us Weekly. There are entire solar systems worth of celebrity stylists and fashion bloggers, many of whom you’re probably unaware of and not following on Instagram.

Fair warning: this edition of our celeb bag round-ups is a solid 50% Chanel, Céline and Hermès. This intel probably elicited one of two responses: squeals of excitement or groans of fatigue. If you’re in the latter camp: I sympathize, but our celeb friends clearly do not.

It’s safe to say a lot of celebs started the week still a tad hungover from Golden Globes after parties, but in the days leading up to the Globes, everyone was clean-cut, (comparatively) sober and busy making the long journey to LA.

It’s extremely possible that Céline’s latest ad campaign (featuring literary icon Joan Didion) has bumped Céline to the forefront of everyone’s bag-addled minds, because we saw an absurd number of celebs carrying Céline last week. It was like 2013 all over again.
