But Juicy has changed, become more mature. I’m sitting here wearing a pair of their jersey pajama shorts and it doesn’t say JUICY on the butt. That alone should tell you they’ve matured.

In any case, this Juicy Couture Pendleton Wool Backpack would be at home at any campus – whether it’s high school and or even college. It’s an a subdued navy with a complementary maroon interior. Plus, it has a cute little fox key fob with a handy whistle. It’s actually cute – not obnoxious cute. I’m definitely back on Team Juicy. Buy through Saks for $248 $172.

Of course, it’s expensive for such a teeny bag, but it’s mink and it’s Christian Louboutin. The best thing about that, though, is that it looks amazing and subtle and understated. Most importantly, it doesn’t look like this.

Of course, it isn’t faux fur, but there are still many, many real-fur lovers out there. And for something so gorgeous and perfectly manicured, I don’t blame them one bit. I mean, how gorgeous would this bag look with a crazy classic tulle ball gown? Buy through Saks for $1395.

But what’s newer and edgier about this Foley + Corinna Dumond Disco City Studded Leather Cross Body Bag is that it’s studded – but only slightly. Rather than just taking the same road as many handbag designers by splashing studs all over their bags, this bag does it sparingly and in an innovative manner. The studs function as the bag’s hinges, which makes them look utilitarian but in the most glam way possible, of course.

In short, this is the most sophisticated City Tote that I’ve seen made – it takes the classic shape and twists it just a tiny bit by adding the gold pyramid stud hinges and gives shape by adding subtle stitching. Well, played Foley + Corinna. Well played. Buy via Bloomingdale’s for $245.

Since we’ve been noting a clear move from monogrammed cute to sleek and chic in Tory’s shoes and bags, it’s no surprise that the Spring 2011 presentation was nothing short of gorgeous. It also confirmed that the 70s really are going to be in style next spring – I know, I know, Marc Jacobs confirmed it too but Tory Burch has the power of mass appeal. Plus, her 70s-inspired pieces were paired with other items that gave them a decidedly modern twist. For example, bell-bottom pants were paired with things like a fine-knit sweater that reminded of Peruvian striped styles or just a simple long-sleeved tee. The shoes were pretty high, yes – giant-heeled espadrilles or high wedges – but there were easy sandals as well.

Of course, the bags moved even more into the realm of minimalism. All of them had but a tiny logo, instead allowing the bright color and shape of the leather to stand out. And the colors were perfectly modern while still preppy: think classic white, orange, bright jade green, and softly vibrant yellow. A striped and woven tote bag fit in with the more globally-inspired pieces, like the Peruvian-style sweater mentioned earlier, while a teeny straw and leather basket purse was just plain cute.

Not only that, but Tory figured out how to make calf-length skirts flattering and wearable. In one of my favorite outfits (in case you’re wondering, yes, I did pick my top five favorite outfits, to be exact) the stunning model wore a calf-length white chiffon skirt spotted in orange with a loose orange top. The outfit was cinched with a glam gold belt with corset-style ties; slim gold hoop earrings finished off the outfit.

On the subject of wearability, the models actually looked happy and comfortable, despite the fact that they had to stand for quite awhile in massively tall platforms and heels. Perhaps it’s because they talked and laughed and joked with one another throughout the presentation, but whatever it was, their pep made me adore the clothes that much more.

By far one of the best parts of my first week back at school was Fashion Week – I jetted (well, ok, I took the subway) to shows before and after class. But I was highly anticipating the Rebecca Minkoff Spring 2011 show, and now I can say with full confidence that it exceeded my expectations.

Not only did it to showcase the new collection of clothing and handbags, but it marked the unveiling of Rebecca Minkoff’s first shoe collection. Plus, famed fashion blogger Rumi Neely of Fashiontoast modeled in the presentation, wearing the Rumi dress inspired by her. All of the look were lovely – while they were still edgy, they had a ladylike quality to them that was only increased by the elegant bags on display. There was a classic black MAC clutch, but that was only the beginning. There were quilted shoulder bags and clutches, and a black patent-trimmed cream MAB that was so gorgeous that the model herself took a closer look whilst modeling. My favorite bag, though, was a more offbeat white Lust bag with black spots. What can I say – even faced with an amazing red exotic evening clutch, I still adore Dalmatian-styled bags.

Why? Because, while walking with the same friend, we spotted a gal slinging this bag over her shoulder. It’s not a bad bag at all – just rather ridiculous. But it’s ridiculous enough that it crosses the line into cuteness. Just like poppy Japanese characters.

So do I like this bag? Of course I do. I love it. Yes, I’m that person who’s a sucker for dog-emblazoned things. And for only $58, I’m sure a lot of other people want to own a little piece of MJ design. Buy through Shopbop for $58.

So besides the fact that this See by Chloe Cherry Mini Bag is miniature (yes – just like mini M&Ms and tiny notebooks, I’m not over it), I know that this patterned version is adorable because I spotted it over the shoulder of a trendy girl in the meatpacking district. Even though the leopard print might look a bit kitschy with the spots not quite close enough, in person it is pretty adorable.

Sure, the color is called “Clouds Tiger,” and I can see many potential ways to make fun of the bag purely because of this name but I’ll let it slide since it’s just too cute. Buy through Shopbop for $360.

But there’s a general problem with this. First of all, it’s called the Parachute, so the designer must know that it looks like it was made out of flimsy parachute material (which pretty much looks like tin foil to my inexperienced eye – when it comes to adventurous air travel). The other problem is that I’m disappointed with the stock photo.

Because the bag is plopped on the set counter, we can’t see what it looks like when it’s full and being worn on the body. My guess it that once items are put inside and you carry it, it’ll look much, much better – not bunchy at all. If anyone has seen the bag in person, please enlighten me. For now, I’m giving Marc Jacobs the benefit of the doubt. Buy through Bloomingdale’s for $495.

But this bag is the WGACA Floral Leather Mini Bag, not a bag from the streets. So is it a bad thing that it reminds me of a bag that I could buy in Puebla for less than 200 pesos (that’s about 16 US dollars), or a good thing? I think it’s good, mostly because I had a ton of those growing up. But maybe you don’t want to get a bag for $118 that looks like it could be made for much less.

In its defense, the ones in Mexico didn’t have the awesome leather stitching at the corners, though they did have the embossed flowers and you could get your name burned on there. This bag, though, exudes the effortless, slightly western and boho aesthetic that What Goes Around Comes Around embraces. I, for one, am glad to see that unity. Buy through Shopbop for $118.

As I scrolled over this Tory Burch Heidi Mini Bag, zooming to take a closer look at the details, I thought, “ Of course Tory Burch is doing pigskin!”. The fact is that Tory’s expanding her brand, and it seems like every week I come across a new item from her line, each chicer and more forward than the past item.

Add that to the fact that I adore purple and that I hold a special place for pigskin in my heart (my personal diaries have been pigskin Smythsons for many years), and this bag fulfills an Anna recipe of success— one of many, I may add. The best thing, though, isn’t the pigskin or the purple, but all the funky and unexpected details on the bag.

First of all, the bag isn’t just pigskin; it’s embossed with a snake print over the leopard-like purple and blue design. It’s pretty much a jungle, if you ask me. Then there’s the lock closure with four simple and perfectly-lined studs, and the glam chain shoulder strap. The classic square shape is the only thing that’s normal about the bag that bursts, unconventional and splashy, out at you whether you see it online or in person (though I do recommend the latter). Buy though Bergdorf Goodman for $335.
