Alexander Wang Embraces Heavy Metal for His Spring 2016 Bags

Alexander Wang has always been a designer who played up his industrial aesthetic leanings, and after a few seasons of flirtation with tech-influenced streetwear, Spring 2016 has brought the designer back to his roots for his eponymous brand’s tenth anniversary collection.

Wang’s runway bags are always the most ambitious of the much larger line he’ll eventually send to stores, and this year that ambition manifested itself in lots of metal detailing, mostly by way of heavy chains and snaps used as studs. The chain-detailed bags are definitely cool-looking, but one wonders how comfortable they’ll actually be to carry.
