As luxury shoppers, we grapple regularly with decisions of how much we’re willing to pay and what we’re willing to pay for. $2000 for a leather bag? Maybe. $2000 for python? Seems more reasonable. $2000 for canvas? Not unless it’s Louis Vuitton and you’re already a huge fan of the brand.
But everyone’s shopping agenda is clearly relative to their income and lifestyle, and being comfortable and happy with one’s own purchases should be the chief goal. A “reasonable” price means something different for everyone.
That being said, I’m sure someone out there has purchased the Lanvin Dice Charm Key Ring at some point in the past, but for the $380 asking price, I’m not sure how anyone could be satisfied with what they’re getting for their money.
I’m not sure what a key chain that’s “worth” $380 would look like, but I’m pretty sure it’s not this. At the very least I’d expect some precious metal and maybe some pavé Swarovski crystals – something super glam. As far as a key chain has the capacity to be glam, at least. But what we have here is a Lucite die, some signature Lanvin metal coins, and tassels made out of what appears to be no more special than regular grosgrain ribbon.
The look is classic Lanvin, but there’s nothing particularly luxe or special about it – the profit margin on one of these things has to be at least 90%. If there’s someone out there that thinks this item is worth $380, I have no idea how he or she came to that conclusion. Buy through Barneys for $380.
Regardless of the price, just admiring the piece itself, it IS a very adorable key ring!

There is no way I would purchase this key ring. I can’t figure out why its priced at $380 because its no where near worth that much money. If you think about your keys and how much they are abused than I am sure no one would purchase this unless your a millionaire and money is just a word and not an issue of survival.
I agree with everybody else this is not worth the price. It’s so easy to make ( what 10 minutes of ones time if that ). It’s cute but priorities people!

I would purchase it… I have a dior keychain with just a dice similar to the one above and its the same price as the lanvin.. i think this is a way cuter keychain than mine though!

However, once again, ITA that the price is truly ridiculous.
I don’t think it’s just about what one is comfortable spending, based on one’s income – as I, for one, appear to have a sort of inbuilt value calculator and that calculator functions independently of what I feel I can afford/ought to spend at the time and has always remained pretty constant (relative to inflation/deflation), whatever my income has happened to be.
I tend to look at items and think; ‘What would that item, of that quality, cost if it was non-designer?’ I then multiply that price by 3 – 5x, depending on the brand.
Looking at this, it screams $50 (about £30), to me – so, being Lanvin, should cost about $150 – $200, IMO.
Therefore, from my POV at least, it’s about two to three times what it ought to be.
I think it is a cute key ring. But the price is absurd. The ribbons will look ratty in no time. Plus, once keys are on it, with the charms…you are only adding weight to our already heavy handbags.
No way is that worth it. That’s at least two pairs of Uggs! (hee, hee)
