Here’s actress Emma Roberts, strolling around West Hollywood and drinking coffee with a burgundy leather Emilio Pucci Flap Bag on her arm. This version of the bag, which looks as though it has dozens of small hoop earrings as trim, was produced several seasons ago and isn’t around any longer, but this black, non-pierced python version is still available for $1,472 at FarFetch.

I think most of us, me included, thought that there was a decent chance Alexander Wang might fall flat on his face at the helm of Balenciaga. Maybe not probable, but not exactly impossible, either. Thankfully, Wang’s results in two seasons as Balenciaga’s creative director have yielded the exact opposite – two focused, luxurious, modern collections that are built solidly atop Balenciaga’s historic foundation.
The bags of Dior Spring 2014 seem to have one very clear message: if you have the budget for exotics, Dior would like to talk to you about some handbags. If not, well, most of these bags will also come in regular leathers…but do you have any friends who have the money for crocodile? If so, can you give Dior their contact information?
We love a party, and we could let one of our favorite bags’ first birthday slip by without a little celebration. The Loeffler Randall Rider Bag turns one year old this season, and we’re marking the occasion by making sure that one of our lucky readers gets to join the Rider Club. (Megs and I are already members, and trust us, it’s a great place to be.) In order to make that happened, we’ve teamed up with Loeffler Randall to give away the Rider bag of your choice.

Considering how aggressive and violent the famous, recently reissued Givenchy Rottweiler Antigona Tote is, you’d expect that the men’s version would be even more snarly and vicious. Alas, that’s not the case – the pup that graces the Givenchy Doberman Nightingale Tote doesn’t look overly perturbed by our presences or concerned that we might enter his yard. I bet he even likes tummy rubs.
Well, fall is here, and even though many of our members are discussing the Spring 2014 lines that have made headlines this month, we are also shifting our wardrobes in anticipation of cooler days and nights. We thought it would be fun to look for some of our members’ fall purchases around the PurseForum, so come on in and see what we found!
Sofia Vergara was recently spotted doing a little shopping in NYC, dressed to the nines (per usual) and carrying a beautiful matte grey Givenchy Antigona Bag. This color is brand new for fall, so it has to be a very recent addition to Sofia’s collection. You can snatch up a grey Antigona for yourself for $2,435 at Net-A-Porter. Looking for something a little more daring?
It may only be the early days of fall, but in sale-season terms, we’ve reached the dead of winter. Midsummer’s abundant discounts have dried up, and now we’re left waiting for November’s Thanksgiving markdowns for a rush of new inventory to populate the sale sections of our favorite websites. That doesn’t mean there aren’t deals to be had, though. In fact, Kate Spade is currently offering up 20% off all full-price merchandise with code SEPT20US – all you have to do is head over to Spade’s website!
Buying a new handbag is always great fun, but it’s even better when you’re buying an exclusive bag that’s doing its part to make the world a better place. Through September 30, you can make just such a purchase at Christie’s online-only Gucci Auction Benefitting Chime for Change, which is a Gucci-founded charity that supports education, health and justice missions for women and girls around the world.
