I feel as though I say this all the time, but it’s really impressive how many distinct handbags Chanel manages to turn out in a year. The brand does collections, pre-collections, cruise, Metiers d’Art – every time you look up, there’s a new Chanel collection coming. Before we get to full-blown fall (and to tide you over after Metiers d’Art 2013), we present Chanel Pre-Collection Fall 2013, which popped up online late last week, along with a new look for the Chanel website.

Shop Summer Baubles and Jewels With Christie’s
No one wants to wear layers of clothing in the summer, which can make it difficult to build an ensemble that feels finished – accessorized, full of personality and true to your personal style. Jackets, scarves, even a too-large leather handbag can seem oppressive in the midst of a heat wave, so a style-savvy woman has only one place to turn in the middle of July: jewelry. Jewelry, especially that of the Christie’s Summer Jewels Online Auction, will never let you down.

Jennifer Aniston Carries a Tom Ford Bag On The Set Of Her New Movie
Jennifer Aniston was recently spotted on the set of her upcoming flick Squirrels to the Nuts, carrying a Tom Ford Jennifer Shoulder Bag. That bag name is no coincidence – Jen is a major Tom Ford fangirl, especially when it comes to his handbags, and her pal Tom named this bag in her honor. If … Read more
Love it or Leave it: Proenza Schouler takes a design cue from candy buttons
I specifically remember spending summers in Ohio riding bikes around the neighborhood and going to the local market to buy candy. Every favorite candy of my childhood was there, and one that most of us remember is Candy Buttons. You might not remember the name, but you remember the hard candy that you chewed off … Read more
The Best Bag Deals for the Weekend of July 19
By now, if you consume any national media in the US at all (or if you’ve read this blog at all this week before today), you’ve probably heard plenty of New York-based people complain that it’s hot. Because it is! It is very hot, and as I understand it, the astronomical rent that we pay to live in this city includes a fee that gives us carte blanche to whine about everything, always, and make the rest of the country listen to it. Because I was not raised here, though, I feel the need to reward you for listening our whining, and today, I’ll do that with a roundup of the Internet’s best bag deals. Kindly ignore the fact that we do this every Friday anyway.
Diane von Furstenberg Makes The Perfect Bag To Take You From Summer Into Fall
Handbag transitions can be hard. Not only do colors change from season to season, but so do textures and shapes. All three of those elements combine to give a bag its overall feel, and finding a finished product that can straddle two seasons is no small feat, especially when you don’t have an unlimited handbag … Read more
Miley Cyrus Is Just Bein’ Miley With Her Chanel Backpack
Here’s Miley Cyrus on her way to a photo shoot in NYC, sporting a pretty typical Miley get-up and carrying a well-loved black Chanel Quilted Backpack. Her dedication to leather-on-leather is admirable here, mainly because it is fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk HOT in NYC this week. Car service does have its advantages, I suppose. If she had to … Read more
PurseBlog Asks: What Bag Do You Buy Over And Over Again?
Humans are creatures of habit. We’re predisposed to find routines, create schedules and return to behaviors over and over again. Even fashion, which encourages newness and exploration, becomes somewhat rote over time. Most fashion people find a uniform for themselves as they spend more and more time thinking about style and what makes them feel like themselves, and at least for now, my uniform is pretty much set – a black (or black and white) maxi dress, silver sandals and my trusty Proenza Schouler PS1. That uniform will shift with the seasons, of course, but the spirit of the pieces that I’ll incorporate into it will be the same. Especially the bag.
The Many Bags of Kate Hudson
If you like celebrities who do their own stylistic thing, no matter what the trends might be, then you probably already like Kate Hudson. Even if you don’t dig her rich-hippie look (and it’s certainly not my thing), it’s always refreshing to see a celeb who has such a clear vision of what she likes … Read more
These Rafé iPhone Cases Might Be The Prettiest Phone Covers Yet
I have a confession to make: I have an old iPhone. A year and a half old, to be exact, which means that I have a 4S instead of a 5, despite the fact that the 5 has been around seemingly forever. It’s that fact that keeps me from upgrading, actually – why get a … Read more
