In My Bag: Chanel Cosmetic Bag edition

I’m not a big makeup person. In fact, I typically don’t wear it. I am, however, a big fan of taking care of my skin, so every morning and evening I go through a routine which will hopefully help keep my face looking young and fresh for years to come. When it came to finding a beauty bag, I decided I had to go with Chanel, because what’s more classic than a quilted Chanel cosmetic pouch?

I throw this pouch in my bag when I know I’ve got a long day upon me and inside of it, there are three items I will never leave home without.

Marchesa Fall 2013 Clutches and Handbags (23)

Lunchtime Eye Candy: Marchesa’s Fall 2013 gorgeous clutches and handbags

As much as I love Rick Owens’ industrial minimalism and Maison Martin Margiela’s subversive modernism, I’m an absolute fool for a girly, sparkly clutch. There’s just something about them that speaks deeply to my inner child who still harbors hopes of one day becoming a princess, even though I figured out early on that I was going to have to marry extremely well for that to happen. (That’s just how my brain works. I knew at a young age that spontaneous princess-hood was not in my future.) I’m pretty sure that when holding one of the Marchesa Fall 2013 evening bags, though, I’d come as close as humanly possible to actually feeling like royalty.

Hermes Ducky

My Hermes Rivale Bracelet revealed on Vine

Last weekend Vlad and I took a little getaway with some friends, and on our way back into the city I saw an Hermes store out of the corner of my eye. I made Vlad whip the car around as soon as I laid eyes on the sign and we were in the parking lot before I knew it, much to Vlad’s dismay. The Hermes Manhasset‎ store was meant for me that day, and I decided I had to leave with a little something.

I ended up picking two bracelets, and I wanted to reveal my first in a different way. If you haven’t heard of Vine, it is a new app that allows you to shoot 6 second clips, and you can put it together in any way you’d like. My Ducky decided to unveil my new treasure, so sit back and enjoy as Ducky unwraps my box to reveal my Hermes Rivale Bracelet.

Also, if you are on Vine be sure to follow us, username: purseblog.

Coach Fall 2013 Brocade Handbag

Reed Krakoff leaving Coach to focus on his own brand – what’s next for both brands?

In the past several seasons, Coach’s leather goods offerings have become a force to be reckoned with. Sure, the brand has long been popular for its reasonably priced handbags and logo-covered accessories, but as of late, its leather game has been so on-point that I can’t even begin to enumerate the times I’ve heard people say, “I’m usually not a Coach fan, but I would kill to have this bag.” Now it looks like both of the men who brought about that upward trajectory are leaving the company. Yesterday, Women’s Wear Daily reported that Reed Krakoff would be leaving his post as president and chief creative officer of Coach in mid-2014; chairman and CEO Lew Frankfort had previously announced his early-2014 departure. So what’s ahead for Krakoff, and can Coach maintain its current momentum without the executives credited with creating it?
