The last bag I was seriously digging from DK was the Eldridge, an uptown cool everyday bag. Now the bag that I find to be entirely simplistic yet beautiful is the Donna Karan Large Expandable Shoulder Bag. This bag is exclusive to Saks. The body of the bag is soft and slouchy, adding a slightly unexpected yet fun addition with the studded shoulder strap. The creamy leather is perfect for winter whites. The overall vibe is grown up with chic twist.

I’m going to see Lady Gaga tonight in Atlanta and I couldn’t be more excited – I’m a total Gaga fangirl, and I’m almost as excited to see what everyone else will be wearing as I am to see the show and hear the songs. Lady Gaga inspires crazy fashion creativity in her fans, and there’s little I love more than some good people-watching.

I don’t think that the Betsey Johnson Hottie Spotty Velour Hobo is quite cool enough for Gaga herself to wear, but it has all the elements of a potential addition to an outfit that could be worn to one of her shows.

Would you pay $195 for this Yves Saint Laurent tote?

Ahh, the eternal handbag questions: how much should we, as consumers, be willing to pay for bags that aren’t made out of leather? How about one made out of canvas? How about a really SIMPLE bag made out of canvas? Should it vary by brand? If it does, does that mean we’ve all fallen victim to someone’s marketing scheme? For me, the Yves Saint Laurent Safety Pins Tote brings up all of those questions and more.

For what it is, I quite like this bag. But is the bag that it is worthy of the price that Yves Saint Laurent is asking? I suppose that depends on who you are and how much extra money is sitting in your bank account.

Oddly enough, I’ve always thought that neoprene was a bit of an underrated fabric for bags. It’s a particular (and maybe peculiar) look, for sure, but that doesn’t mean it can’t also be stylish if used smartly.

I am afraid you won’t find many purse-related wishes in my list. Being the nerdy tech behind the PurseBlog operation, I certainly do appreciate bags very much, but you will not see me strolling the streets carrying around an oversized tote any time soon.

This year, I have decided to divide my list into two categories. The realistic list and the not-so-realistic-but-still-would-love-to-see-it-under-the-tree list. The realistic list contains gifts that I would definitely have daily use for and would not rob Santa off his 401K savings. The other list is me lusting over treasures that I hope will be mine someday, are currently very much out of reach though.

It seems that See By ChloÃ© is continuing to tread in elegance, as evidenced by this See by ChloÃ© Slouchy Drawstring Crossbody Bag. The cincher for me. though, wasn’t the shape or the thick, fun tassel, but the color. It’s ink- a blue made for the depths of the ocean. It’s subtle, sophisticated, and off the beaten track of black bags- though you can purchase the bag in black as well.

The shape is also pretty genius, emulating the slouchy silhouette and polished gold accents of the See By ChloÃ© Grasshopper Crossbody Bag. And the flap- oh, I adore this strong, interestingly shaped flap. Rather than a traditional flap, it tapers from round to square, and the thick seam around the edge magnifies the shape. The triangular zippers offset the flap perfectly.

Hear ye, hear ye, I am 100% in holiday mode right now. I want the Christmas lights to be on all day long. I want to be surrounded by friends and family. And of course, I want to look the part. Tomorrow night we will be heading to a dinner party with some family friends of ours and I would love to carry a snazzy handbag which could capture my spirit. As I write this from a lovely pleather chair in the airport, laptop firmly secured in my lap, travel bags become oh-so-noticeable to me as they always do when I travel. But the difference now is that we’re currently in a state of complete chilliness and massive mounds of snow coat all available outdoor surfaces. Considering this, this LeSportsac Black Patent Small Weekender fits the bill for a snow day travel bag.

I differ from many bag-lovers in my color preferences; I rarely choose black bags. In fact, I’m not sure I own a black bag. But this small weekender is particularly mesmerizing to me, especially if I imagine it against a background of pure, white, beautiful snow. Actually, the majority of the snow in the city has now been transformed into a squishy brown slush that sticks to the bottom of your shoes and makes you fall up a massive outdoor staircase as a massive amount of tourist watches.
